PLANNING BOARD REARING June 110 1934 ' A hearing was held in the Selectmen's Room of the Town Office Building, Lexington, Monday evening, June 11, 1934, at 8:00 P. N. Messrs. buffy, Greeley, Scheibe, Glynn and Robinson were present. The purpose of the hearing was to consider the following proposed amendments to the Zoning By -Law: - "By substituting for Section 30 0.1 Districts, Article 18, the following: - "18. Upon the southerly side of Massachusetts Avenue beginn- ing at the westerly line of Wallis Court and extending westerly to A point opposite the easterly line of Mariam Street, and of a depth of 100 feet from the southerly line of Massachusetts Avenue, through- out." By substituting for Section 32, C.1 Districts, Article 17, the following: - "17. Beginning at the junction of Fletcher Avenue and Woburn Street, and extending southerly to and westerly along the northerly line of Massachusetts Avenue to the easterly line of " Mariam Street and throughout its entire length extending norther- ly to the Railroad property." Mr, Duffy explained that the hearing had been called by the Planning Board and stated that a previous hearing had been held on the same matter, the purpose being than to change from a C.1 District to an R.1 District all the land on Town Office Building side of Mass. Avenue from Vine Brook to Fletcher Avenue and Woburn Street and on the other side of the street from Wallis Court to Winthrop Road extending back IGO feet. The Town Meeting voted to change the Town Office Building side from a C.1 District to an Rol District and noted not to change the other side. He also stated that the Planning Board felt that both areas should be in a Residence Zone. Mrs.Sexton, speaking for her mother, Mrs. T. J. Leary, announced that Mrs. Leary feels the same as before and would lime to see the property back in a C.1 District. She stated that they had three offers for business, a gas station, stores and an und.ertakerts establishment. The Fire Department also inquired for a price as it was the proposed site for the new fire station at one time, and she had stated $18,000.00. Mrs. E. J. Thivierge stated that they would like to see the zoning remain as it is so they could have a business of their own there at some future date. She also remarked that she thought it ought to be their privilege after paying taxes as a business district. ' Mr. Duffy read a letter from Bim. Nathan Bidwell announcing the objections of the Hunt Heirs of the section being changed from a C.1 to an R.1 District. Mr. Duffy also read a letter from Daniel J. Os0onnell to Mass. Avenue Searing
