PLANNING BOARD REARING <br />June 110 1934 <br />' A hearing was held in the Selectmen's Room of the Town <br />Office Building, Lexington, Monday evening, June 11, 1934, at 8:00 <br />P. N. Messrs. buffy, Greeley, Scheibe, Glynn and Robinson were <br />present. <br />The purpose of the hearing was to consider the following <br />proposed amendments to the Zoning By -Law: - <br />"By substituting for Section 30 0.1 Districts, Article 18, <br />the following: - <br />"18. Upon the southerly side of Massachusetts Avenue beginn- <br />ing at the westerly line of Wallis Court and extending westerly to <br />A point opposite the easterly line of Mariam Street, and of a depth <br />of 100 feet from the southerly line of Massachusetts Avenue, through- <br />out." <br />By substituting for Section 32, C.1 Districts, Article 17, <br />the following: - <br />"17. Beginning at the junction of Fletcher Avenue and <br />Woburn Street, and extending southerly to and westerly along the <br />northerly line of Massachusetts Avenue to the easterly line of " <br />Mariam Street and throughout its entire length extending norther- <br />ly to the Railroad property." <br />Mr, Duffy explained that the hearing had been called by the <br />Planning Board and stated that a previous hearing had been held <br />on the same matter, the purpose being than to change from a C.1 <br />District to an R.1 District all the land on Town Office Building <br />side of Mass. Avenue from Vine Brook to Fletcher Avenue and Woburn <br />Street and on the other side of the street from Wallis Court to <br />Winthrop Road extending back IGO feet. The Town Meeting voted <br />to change the Town Office Building side from a C.1 District to <br />an Rol District and noted not to change the other side. He also <br />stated that the Planning Board felt that both areas should be in <br />a Residence Zone. <br />Mrs.Sexton, speaking for her mother, Mrs. T. J. Leary, <br />announced that Mrs. Leary feels the same as before and would <br />lime to see the property back in a C.1 District. She stated that <br />they had three offers for business, a gas station, stores and an <br />und.ertakerts establishment. The Fire Department also inquired <br />for a price as it was the proposed site for the new fire station <br />at one time, and she had stated $18,000.00. <br />Mrs. E. J. Thivierge stated that they would like to see the <br />zoning remain as it is so they could have a business of their own <br />there at some future date. She also remarked that she thought <br />it ought to be their privilege after paying taxes as a business <br />district. <br />' Mr. Duffy read a letter from Bim. Nathan Bidwell announcing <br />the objections of the Hunt Heirs of the section being changed <br />from a C.1 to an R.1 District. <br />Mr. Duffy also read a letter from Daniel J.
