112 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />March 8, 1949 <br />A special meeting of the Board of -Selectmen <br />was held on Monday .afternoon, March 8, 1949, <br />at 4:45 P.M. for the purpose of organizing for <br />the ensuing year. There were present: Messrs. <br />Emery, Gay, Driscoll, Nickerson and Hoyt. Mrs. <br />Flaherty, Acting ClerlR, was also present. <br />Mr. Emery moved that the Clerk be appointed <br />Temporary Chairman pending the election of a <br />permanent Chairman. Mr. Driscoll seconded the <br />motion, and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Gay then moved that Mr. George W. Emery <br />be elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for <br />the ensuing year. The motion was unanimously <br />seconded, and the Clerk was instructed to cast <br />one ballot in favor of the nominee and Mr. <br />Emery was declared elected. <br />Mr. Emery thanked the Board for their con- <br />fidence in him and he then presided over the <br />meeting. <br />A discussion followed conberning the Appro- <br />priation Committee's Report. a e members of the <br />Board expressed their opinions7to the construction <br />of the proposed new school and other matters per- <br />taining to the Town Meeting. <br />It was decided to meet Saturday morning at <br />10:30 A.M. for an informal discussion. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M. <br />A true record, Attest;. <br />Acting Clerk, Selectmen.. <br />1 <br />
