The Clerk informed the Board that Mr. Stone, <br />representing the Lexington Drum Corps had requested <br />permission for the corps to march through Lexington <br />Center on Friday afternoon and Friday evening to give <br />some publicity to the paper drive on Sunday. <br />It was decided to have the Chairman contact Mr. <br />Stone and discuss this request with him. The Board <br />did not object too strongly providing the Chief of <br />Police is consulted and is of the opinion that soiree <br />arrangement may be worked out. <br />367 <br />Drum `orps <br />permission <br />to march <br />The Chairman read a letter from firs. The company replaced a number <br />of rungs and also installed a number of steel rungs to <br />strengthen the ladder, but made no charge for the matebial. <br />Mr. Emery said that the real question was what was <br />the fundamental cause of the damage to the ladder truck <br />and he does not believe that the company has made a <br />satisfactory reply. <br />It was agreed that Mr. Emery should discuss this <br />subject with the Board of Fire Engineers. <br />At 10.10 p.m. Paul McCormack and Raymond Lewis of <br />the American Legion met with the Board. Mr. McCormack Field <br />said that the Legion would like to conduct a field day Day <br />and celebration on the 4th of July and the night before. <br />The Chairman explained that they should bo,;ntact <br />Mr. Garrity and make sure that there is nothing in his <br />park program that might conflict. <br />Mr. McCormack asked if he could ask now to have the <br />field reserved and the Chairman said that it is permissable <br />but that Mr. Garrity may have something planned about which <br />the Board has no knowledge.
