SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />March 22, 1948 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen <br />was held in the Selectmen's Room on Monday evening, <br />March 22, 1948, at 7:30 P.M. There were present: <br />Chairman Paxton, Messrs. Emery, Gay and Nickerson. <br />The Clerk was also present. <br />The Chairman read a letter from Arsine Seymourian <br />requesting that the condition of Laconia Street be im- <br />proved inasmuch as he has a son who is a wounded war <br />veteran and it causes him discomfort to be driven <br />over the road in its present condition. Upon motion <br />of Mr. Gay, seconded by Mr. Emery, it was voted to <br />authorize the Sup't. of Public Works to scrape the <br />street with the understanding that no material will <br />be dumped by the Town of Lexington, and whatever <br />material is there will have to be used to the best <br />advantage. <br />The Chairman read a letter from the residents <br />of Avon Street requesting that some fill be put on <br />the street claiming that town trucks going to and <br />from the pumping station have caused deep ruts. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Gay, seconded by Mr. Emery, it <br />was voted to authorize the Supt. of Public Works <br />to scrape the street but not to put in any material, <br />and to use the material there to the best possible <br />advantage. <br />The Chairman read a <br />submitting the following <br />traffic lights at Clarke <br />Avenue to meet the State <br />letter from Louis Bills <br />quotation for revising the <br />Street and Massachusetts <br />requirements: <br />New pedestrian call controller having normal <br />flashing operation to change to stop and. go <br />sequence when actuated by push button and <br />equipped with radio interference filter. <br />2 weatherproof pedestrian push buttons to be <br />mounted on the traffic light poles. <br />Labor and installation, approximately - - $ 500.00 <br />309 <br />Scrape <br />Laconia <br />Street <br />Traffic <br />lights <br />at <br />Clarke <br />and <br />Mass. <br />Ave. <br />
