232 <br />Gas Hear- <br />ing -- <br />Lowery <br />Bids for <br />Public <br />Works <br />Supplies <br />SELECTMEN'S FETING <br />February 2, 1948 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen <br />was held in the Selectmen's Room on Monday <br />evening, February 2, 1948 at 7:30 P.M. <br />There were present: Chairman Paxton, Iviessrs. <br />Locke, Emery and Gay. The Clerk was also present. <br />At 7:40 P.M. a hearing was declared open <br />upon the application of Kieran J. Lowry for <br />permission to install three underground tanks <br />for the storage of gasoline ( 3000 gallons) <br />on premises at 286 Lincoln Street, Lexington. <br />The notice of the hearing was read by the <br />Chairman. Mr. Lowry and one other person <br />attended the hearing. The Chairman asked if <br />Mr. Lowry intended to operate a gasoline station <br />and he replied in the affirmative. No persons <br />appeared in opposition. TheChairman informed the <br />Board that the application has been approved by <br />the Chief Engineer, Roy A. Cook. .Upon motion <br />of Mr. Emery, seconded by Mr. Gay, it was voted <br />that the license be granted. The hearing was <br />declared closedat 7:45 P.M. and the individuals <br />retired. <br />Mr. DeFoe met with the Board. He informed <br />the Board that he had received four bids for <br />fittings, hydrants and gate valves and sub- <br />mitted figures to the Board for consideration. <br />Mr. Frnery moved that the Sup't. of Public <br />Works be autaorized to purchase a supply of <br />fittings from the Public Works Supply Company <br />at their quotation of $2,520.10. Mr. Locke <br />seconded the motion, •and it was so voted. Mr. <br />Gay moved that the Sup't. of PublicWork•s be <br />authorized to purchase a supply of hydrants <br />from the PublicWorks Supply Company at their <br />quotation of $112.55, with a possible increase <br />of 101. Mir. Locke seconded the motion, and <br />it was so voted. Mr. Locke moved that the <br />otg <br />
