475 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />April is, 1946 <br />A regular meeting or tne Board or Selectmen was held <br />in tne Selectmen's Room, Town Ofr'iOe'Build ng, on Monaay <br />evening, April 15, 1946, at 7:30 p.m. Cnairman Potter, <br />Locke and Paxton w ere present. Tne Clerk was also present. <br />At /:30 p.m. Mr. Josepn H. DeFue, Supt. of Public Works, <br />appeared before tne Boaru. Extension <br />Mr. DeFoe said tial tne estimated cost or construction Woburn <br />or the sewer on Woourn Street is approximately ;179,000. He Street <br />informed tne Board tnat ne nad written to Mr. Mulligen, whose sewer <br />name appeared first on tne petition requesting the sewer <br />installation, and advised him that it could not be done this <br />year. <br />Mr. Deleoe requested permission to purchase a caterpillar <br />grader from the War Assets Corporation at a cost of 4f927.5O. <br />Mr. Paxton moved that Mr. DeFoe be autnorized to purchase <br />this unit at the price quoted. Mr. Locke seconded the <br />motion, and it was so voted. <br />Mr. DeFoe informed the Board that he had an opportunity <br />to purchase another 11 foot plow, and he believed the Town <br />should have it. <br />Mr. Paxton moved that Mr. DeFoe be <br />this unit at a cost not to exceed *280. <br />the motion, and it was so voted. <br />At 8:00 p.m. the following persons appeared relative to <br />R. Lockwood Tower's, et al, Board of Survey Hearing: W. S. <br />Couette, Agent for the developer; Mr. Ford, an Engineer <br />representing Everett b. Brooks; Rupert Stevens; Robert L. <br />Ryder; Stanley Biggins; and six otner individuals. <br />Mr. Couette said that the developer has come to a point <br />on leollen Hill where he must open up 'another section. He <br />presented plans and profiles and explained that they .intended <br />to extend Buckman Drive, Locust Avenue and Churchill Lane. <br />Mr. Couette stated that they will open thirty-nine lots. <br />The Chairman asked if the plans presented tonignt <br />included all tne layout wnick tney intend to improve. <br />Mr. Couette replied taat it includes all tnat tney intend <br />to do at this time. <br />Mr. Paxton asked if tnis rurtner development tied in <br />completely witn tne original plan, and Mr. Couette replied <br />in the affirmative. <br />He said that they would extend the drain in both instances <br />to a proper point beyond the limit or the lot lines as shown <br />so as to cause no nuisance. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any persons present who <br />objected to the layout. <br />No one appeared in opposition. <br />The group retired at 8:20 p.m. <br />Vote to <br />Purchase <br />Caterpil] <br />ar. <br />Grader <br />Vote to <br />Purchase <br />autnorized to purchase 11 Foot <br />Mr. Locke seconded Plow <br />Board of <br />Survey <br />nearing <br />H.
