112 <br />Reorgan- <br />ization <br />Elect. <br />Chairman <br />Mr. Locke <br />Movie <br />Permit <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />March 12, 1945 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br />held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, <br />on Monday evening, March 12, 1945 at 7:30 P.M. The <br />members were notified of this meeting by a notice <br />mailed on March 9, 1945. Messrs. Locke, Rowse, Sarano, <br />and Sheldon were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />Mr. Sheldon moved that the Clerk be appointed <br />Temporary Chairman pending the election of the permanent <br />Chairman. Mr. Sarano seconded the motion, and it was so <br />voted. <br />Mr. Locke then moved that Mr. A. Edward Rowse be <br />elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the <br />ensuing year. <br />Mr. Rowse stated that he would prefer not to <br />accept the nomination, inasmuch as it would be impossible <br />for him to devote the time required. <br />Mr. Locke said that, under the circumstances, he <br />was willing to withdraw the motion. <br />Mr. Rowse then moved that Mr. Errol H. Locke <br />re-elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for <br />coming year. Mr. Sarano seconded the motion, and <br />was so voted. <br />Letter was received from Mr. <br />he wished to be recorded in favor <br />serving as Chairman for another year. <br />be <br />to <br />it • <br />• <br />Potter stating that <br />of Errol H. Locke <br />Mr. Locke thanked the Board for its continued faith <br />in him, and said that he would be happy to continue to <br />serve as Chairman for the coming year. He then presided <br />over the meeting. <br />At 7:40 P.M. Mr. Charles D. Allen appeared before <br />the Board. <br />Mr. Allen said that he planned to open up an eaectric <br />appliance shop, and would like a permit to show movies <br />on the progress of electricty in the rear of his store. <br />In connection with the movies, there would be a loud <br />speaker and the sound might possibly be heard on the <br />street. Mr. Allen said that he wanted the permit for <br />Friday and Saturday nights only, to advertise the open- <br />ing of his store. <br />00 <br />a <br />1 <br />1 <br />
