112 Reorgan- ization Elect. Chairman Mr. Locke Movie Permit SELECTMEN'S MEETING March 12, 1945 A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Monday evening, March 12, 1945 at 7:30 P.M. The members were notified of this meeting by a notice mailed on March 9, 1945. Messrs. Locke, Rowse, Sarano, and Sheldon were present. The Clerk was also present. Mr. Sheldon moved that the Clerk be appointed Temporary Chairman pending the election of the permanent Chairman. Mr. Sarano seconded the motion, and it was so voted. Mr. Locke then moved that Mr. A. Edward Rowse be elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the ensuing year. Mr. Rowse stated that he would prefer not to accept the nomination, inasmuch as it would be impossible for him to devote the time required. Mr. Locke said that, under the circumstances, he was willing to withdraw the motion. Mr. Rowse then moved that Mr. Errol H. Locke re-elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for coming year. Locke Mr. Locke thanked the Board for its continued faith in him, and said that he would be happy to continue to serve as Chairman for the coming year. He then presided over the meeting. At 7:40 P.M. Mr. Charles D. Allen appeared before the Board. Mr. Allen said that he planned to open up an eaectric appliance shop, and would like a permit to show movies on the progress of electricty in the rear of his store. In connection with the movies, there would be a loud speaker and the sound might possibly be heard on the street. Mr. Allen said that he wanted the permit for Friday and Saturday nights only, to advertise the open- ing of his store. 00 a 1 1
