15 <br />He said that he had made inquiries pertaining Purchase <br />to an addressgraph machine and that he has added the Of an <br />sum of $11000.00 to his 1945 Water Maintenance Budget Addresso- <br />for the purchase of this particular machine. However, graph <br />in talking with the company, he now understands the Machine <br />restrictions of the :"lar Production Board have been lifted <br />somewhat, and it is possible, at the present time, to <br />make a purchase of the addressograph machine at an estimated <br />price of $1,000.00. <br />He said that there is a balance in the Water Maintenance <br />Account between $3,000.00 and x,:5,000.00. Mr. Paxton <br />said that even if the unit were ordered immediately, <br />it would not be delivered until some time next year, <br />and in talking with Mr. "thite, down Accountant, he was <br />informed that on a Maintenance Appropriation permission <br />may be obtained from the Director of <br />Accounts to carry it over, and Mr. Paxton asked the <br />Board if they felt it advisable for him to obtain a <br />price from the Addressograph Company. He said that <br />if the Board approved, he would then obtain the proper <br />War Production Board authority, make out the order, <br />and then request the Town Accountant to carr,,;* over the <br />amount of $1000.00, and thereby reduce his Water <br />Maintenance Budget. Mr. Paxton explained that if he <br />waits until the new appropriation is approved, the order <br />could not be placed until after Town Meeting, and he <br />would then probably have to wait five or six months. <br />Mr. Sarano moved that Mr. Paxton be authorized to <br />obtain a bid on the purchase of a new addressograph <br />machine. Mr. Sheldon seconded the motion, and it was <br />so voted. <br />Mr. Paxton informed the Board that the Appropriation <br />Committee had approved atransfer of $140.00 from the <br />Reserve Fund to the Chain Link Fence Account. Mr. OtBrion <br />of the Chain Link Fence L'ompany came to Lexington and <br />conferred with Mr. Garrity, and Mr. Paxton. The posts Placed <br />are available at the present time and in order to reserve <br />them for Lexington, Mr. O'Brion is immediately putting Order <br />in a request for the nine gauge wire fence. Mr. Paxton Nine Gauge <br />said that he placed the order for the fence at a net Wire i=ence <br />cost of $4,140.00; the fence to be erected if, and when, <br />the nine gauge wire is available. Mr. OtBrion will keep <br />the posts in stock and earmark them for the Town of Lexington. <br />The Chairman asked if the price would still be the <br />same at the time the nine .ange wire fence is available. <br />Mr. Paxton replied in the affirmative. <br />
