452 <br />Board <br />of <br />Survey <br />Hearing <br />Larch- <br />mont <br />Lane <br />## <br />Farnham <br />Resign. <br />Cesspool <br />Complaint <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETINt <br />April 3, 1944 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Monday <br />evening, April 3, 1944, at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Potter, Sheldon <br />and Sarano were present. The Clerk was also present. In <br />the absence.of Mr. Locke,.Mr. Potter served as Chairman.. <br />At 7:30 P.M. the Board of Survey hearing on the <br />application of Brown and Benson, Ind, for the.apprgval of a <br />plan of Larchmont lane, which was held over from 143t week, <br />was declared open.- <br />Messrs. Cosgrove and Paxton were the only ones who <br />attended the hearing. <br />Mr. Paxton informed the Board that the layout had been <br />revised somewhat to conform with the request of Mr. Alfred <br />Tropeano. Mr. Paxton said that sometime in the future it will <br />be necessary to change the water mains to some extent. He <br />said the builders were willing to put a building line on <br />the plan showing a setback of 30' on Revere Street, 30' on <br />Bedford Street and 20' on Larchmont Lane. He said that the <br />right of way lines are about 2' or so from the bottom branches <br />of the pine trees. <br />Mr. Sheldon moved that the Board of Survey plan be <br />approved as follows: Subdivision of Land in Lexingtoh, Mass. <br />owned by Brown and Benson, Inc: Scale 1 in. ■ 40' March 29, <br />1944 Everett M. Brooks, Civil Engineer, Newtonville, Mass. <br />Mr. Sarano seconded the motion and int was so voted. <br />Mr,-�;*osgrove retired at 8.4© Y.M. <br />Letter was received from Mr. White, Town Accountant <br />advising the Board that Mrs. Farnham had tendered her <br />resignation to become effective the middle of May, 1944. <br />Mr. White wanted to know if the Board would be willing <br />to pay a higher salary than was received by Mrs. Farnham, <br />due to the fact that as a result of several inquiries, <br />$23.00 a week would not be sufficient for a secretary of <br />Mrs. Farnham's ability. - <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Chairman read a letter from Mrs. Harold D. O'Brien, <br />1 Fuller Road, stating that Mr. Canessa had charged $24.00 <br />for cleaning out the cesspool. Three days later the cesspool <br />was overflowing again. She called a plumber, Mr. Callahan, <br />who informed her that the cesspool was still filled within <br />three feet of the top. <br />#� Mr. Paxton said that he would like permission of the <br />Board to pay Miss Isabelle Harvey two weeks' vacation. <br />Mr. Sarano moved that Mr. Paxton's request be granted. <br />Mr. Sheldon seconded the motion, and it was so voted. <br />0.4 <br />
