146 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />January 25, 1943 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Monday <br />evening, January 25, 1943 at 7:30 P.M. Chairman Giroux, <br />Messrs. Potter, Rowse, Locke, and Sarano were present. <br />The Clerk was also present. <br />At 7:30 P.M. Mr, Carroll appeared before the Board <br />for the drawing of two jurors. <br />Mr. Haskell Reed, milk, 72 Lowell Street was drawn <br />to serve at the First Session, Criminal Court, Cambridge <br />Jurors on Tuesday, March 2, 1943. <br />Mr. Winston W. E. Cann, department engineer, 1 <br />Aerial Street was drawn to serve at the Second Session, <br />Civil Court, Cambridge on Monday, February 15, 1943. <br />Mr. Carroll retired. <br />Mr. Morse appeared before the Board at 7:40 P.M. <br />Mr. Morse told the Board that he had no cases to report <br />on this evening. <br />Mr. Morse informed the Board that he would arrange <br />to have his visiting hours mornings only and he would <br />use the Inspectors' Room for this. The Inspectors are <br />in the office afternoons and therefore he will not <br />interfere with their work. <br />Mr. Morse retired at 7:45 P.M. <br />An offer of 00.00 for the purchase of Lot 33 on <br />MorelandAvenue was received from Mrs. Joseph Yntas of <br />40 Moreland Avenue. This woman owns three other lots <br />Tax now and desires to purchase this lot to keep a cow. Mr. <br />Title Potter recommended that the offer be accepted. <br />Property Mr. Rowse moved that the Selectmen sell and convey <br />lot 33 Moreland Avenue to Mrs. Yntas. Mr. Potter <br />seconded the motion, and it was so voted. <br />Letter was received from the Lexington Allied <br />Veterans Council advising that the following persons <br />were nominated for consideration by the Board to serve <br />on the Patriots' Day Committee: Arthur N. Lee, American <br />Legion; Julius Seltzer, State Guard Veterans; James J. <br />April 19th Carroll, Lexington Minute Men; Malcom H. Clifford, <br />Committee Veterans of Foreign Wars; George E. Foster, Sons of <br />Union Veterans, Frank B. Culbertson, Ex Officio, and <br />Albert G. Frothingham, Ex Officio. <br />Mr. Potter moved that the above delegates be ap- <br />pointed to serve on the Patriots' Day Committee.
