f � tA0Ajvr c. <br /> Town of Lexington <br /> " <br /> A Policy Manual Committee <br /> APPJLIFI � Minutes, Meeting of February 15, 2018 <br /> Committee Members: Scott Burson, Michelle Ciccolo, Jeanne Krieger, Hank Manz, <br /> Joseph Pato, Laurie Peck <br /> Members Absent: Deborah Brown <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM. <br /> 1) The Committee reviewed and approved the meeting minutes of October 26, 2017 <br /> by unanimous vote. <br /> 2) Review of policy revision requests <br /> The chair observed that the Procedures, Policies, and Regulations Manual was last <br /> updated in 2005 and has not kept up with changes in state law in several areas. He will <br /> bring a set of proposed revisions to a future meeting. <br /> Battle Green Use policy <br /> The committee reviewed proposed changes to the Battle Green Use policy. Section 7 <br /> limits the issuance of permits for use of the Battle Green to Town-sponsored activities <br /> for the two weeks around Patriots' Day. Recent experience with weather-based <br /> cancellations forcing rescheduling suggest that this exclusive-use period is too short. <br /> The Committee voted unanimously to recommend changing the exclusive use <br /> period to April 5 through April 30. <br /> The potential for operation of drone aircraft over the Battle Green was then discussed. <br /> The committee consensus was that general operation of drone aircraft over the Battle <br /> Green was undesirable, but that use of drones for municipal or public safety purposes <br /> should be allowed. <br /> The Committee voted unanimously to recommend inserting the following item <br /> in section 3 as a new impermissible activity: <br />
