BOARD OF APPEALS <br />' April 12, 1979 <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room <br />beginning at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: George P. Wadsworth, Chairman <br />Ruth Morey <br />Woodruff M. Brodhead <br />Thomas G. Taylor <br />Eric T. Clarke, Associate <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices of hearings <br />having been mailed and advertised as required by statute. <br />24 Colony Road, Maurice H. Pease, Jr. and Mary Jane Case Pease - variance to main- <br />tain house and garage as presently located. <br />643 Waltham Street, James B. Catalano - renewal of special permit to continue <br />operations of retail business of selling flowers, produce and plants grown on the <br />premises known as Whitehouse Gardens. <br />1734 Massachusetts Avenue, George Athanasiadis - special permit for take out food <br />service for the sale specifically of pastries, sandwiches and -pizza to be baked <br />on the premises now being operated as Cheryl's Bakery. <br />' 33 Marrett Road, Trustees of the Supreme Council, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite <br />of Freemasonry (A.A.S.R.) - special permit to allow a single family dwelling to <br />be erected on a plot of land owned by them, said lot consisting of 46,826 sq. ft. <br />of land, located at the sw corner of the property known as 33 Marrett Rd. The <br />purpose of this dwelling is to provide a home for an employee of the Supreme <br />Council. It is not the intention of the Council to develop a commercial enterprise. <br />75 Concord Ave., GCC Communications of Boston, Inc. - special permit to maintain <br />existing property including the transmitting/studio/office building and four radio <br />towers and to add a new 160 ft. receiving tower to be attached to the main building <br />and rise 118 feet above the roof. (variance of height limitations). <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />24 Colony Rd. - unanimously granted. <br />643 Waltham St. - unanimously granted (expiration date April 12, 1981) <br />1734 Mass. Ave. - unanimously granted a special permit for take out food service; <br />- denied,2 to 2,a request for later hours & Sunday hours (1 absent). <br />75 Concord Ave. - granted unanimously with conditions. <br />33 Marrett Rd. - granted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed fees. No official action was taken but the sense of the <br />discussion was to consider raising fees.
