BOARD OF APPEALS <br />August 12, 1976 <br />j The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thursday,.August 12, 1976, <br />beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. <br />Present were: Chairman Nickerson, Vice Chairman Wadsworth, Ruth Morey, Woodruff M. <br />Brodhead and Irving H. Mabee. Also present were a room full of townspeople, a <br />Lexington Minute -Man Reporter and a representative of the League of Women Voters. <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices having been mailed <br />to the proper persons and notices having been advertised as required by statute. <br />Dorothy G. Levine - variance of section 27 and the minimum side yard requirement of <br />15 ft. set forth therein. The building is a garage located at 58 Buckman Drive and <br />is located only 9.2 ft. from the side yard in violation of this section. The Peti- <br />tioner requests a variance of 5.8 ft. in order that the building conform to the ex- <br />isting zoning bylaws. <br />Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lincoln Laboratory - special permit under <br />section 30 of the zoning bylaw in order that it may erect on premises, owned by it, <br />at 238 Wood Street, a tower, located and described on plans and exhibits filed with <br />the Board. The tower including the antenna will be 88 ft. above ground level. <br />Richard R. Corazzini and Frederic D: Corazzini, d/b/a Corazzini Bros. - renewal of a <br />special permit for the retail sale of nursery products at 7 Blossom Street, in accord- <br />ance with the regulations set forth in the zoning bylaw, section 24.5. The sales area <br />will be in a portion of the existing building as shown on the Plot Plan previously <br />submitted. <br />The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting. See permits and <br />denials for details. <br />Levine - granted 4 to 1, George P. Wadsworth voting in opposition. <br />M.I.T. - granted unanimously. <br />Hagopian - 3 in favor, 2 in opposition (Ruth Morey and Irving Mabee). <br />Lexington Savings Bank_- granted 4 to 0 (directional signs), Mr. Mabee abstained. <br />Corazzini - denied, 3 in favor, 2 in opposition (I.Mabee and R. Hagopian - variance of section 27 in order to <br />build <br />a porch attached <br />to the rear of the house at 46 Chase Avenue, which addition <br />will result <br />in a six foot instead of fifteen foot rear yard. <br />' <br />Lexington <br />Savings Bank <br />- special permit to erect two free standing signs on property <br />at 421 <br />Lowell Street. <br />Richard R.
