December 19, 1974 hearings (continued) -2 <br />taccordance with a plan attached to the petition and made a part hereof entitled <br />"Plot Plan, Land in Lexington, Mass." dated Nov. 29, 1974, Miller and Nylander, <br />Civil Engineers and Surveyors. <br />Location of property: Westerly side of Waltham Street with frontage 152.12 <br />feet of said Waltham St. near the intersection of Waltham and Allen Street. The <br />parcel contains 24 acres more or less. <br />The petitioner seeks a special permit under the provisions of Section 25.23 <br />of the Use Regulation Schedule of the Zoning By-law of the Town of Lexington to <br />permit the erection of an Incoming Mail Center (I.M.C.) to be owned and operated <br />by the United States Postal Service providing mail service to nine (9) postal <br />offices including the Town of Lexington. U. S. Postal Service Vehicles will be <br />based at this facility. <br />The property is in an RO Zone. <br />Following the hearings the Board gave further consideration to the subject <br />of the petitions, the evidence presented by the petitioners and others and the <br />reports and letters received, including the letters received from other town <br />boards and officials and made the following decisions, all in public open meeting: <br />Kennecott Copper Corporation - granted unanimously. <br />Minuteman Village - granted unanimously. <br />Ginn and Company - granted unanimously, subject to the condition: The area <br />around the sign shall be landscaped and every effort made to please the neighbors. <br />Bonny's Landscape Service (U.S. Postal Service) - Withdrawn. See a copy of letter <br />sent to the Chairman: <br />Dear Mr. Nickerson: <br />Please be advised that the above-named petitioner, Bonny's Landscape Service <br />Inc. does hereby withdraw its petition for a special permit under the provisions <br />of Section 12.2 of the Zoning By-laws of the Town of Lexington. <br />The withdrawal of said petition is done without prejudice to the rights of <br />the petitioner to resubmit a like petition at some future date. <br />Notice of this withdrawal has been given to the Lexington Minute Man in <br />order to cause the least inconvenience to those parties interested. <br />Very truly yours, <br />/s/ Norman J.
