BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />January 25, 1972 <br />' A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, <br />January 25, 1972 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members <br />Dawes, Sheldon and Wadsworth and associate member Brodhead. A standing room <br />only audience crowded the selectmen's meeting room of the town office building. <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notice having been <br />mailed to the petitioners and to the owners of all property deemed by the Board <br />to be affected thereby as they appear on the most recent local tax list and <br />also advertised in the Lexington Minute -man: <br />Mobil Oil Corporation - permission to erect and maintain a free-standing sign <br />on the property located at 396 Waltham St. <br />Mrs. Jack Radlo - variance in order to replace an existing porch with an addi- <br />tion of same width but which overhang will leave a side yard of 18 ft. instead <br />of the required 20 ft. <br />John and Rosina Busa - permission to continue operation of a roadside stand on <br />the premises at 52 Lowell Street. <br />Lexington Professional Building Trust, Alfred P. Tropeano, Trustee - petition <br />to amend the permit of and for the premises at 114 Waltham Street, entered on <br />June 10, 1954, by deleting that portion of the permit limiting the use of the <br />offices to "physicians, dentists and other professions", and to amend the permit <br />' entered on May 12, 1959, extending and enlarging the use for the building by <br />deleting all references that the use of offices be limited to physicians, den- <br />tists and other professions and the use of said offices be limited to that set <br />forth in section 25.40, 25.41 and 25.42. <br />Norman L. Paul - special permit under section 25.81 to use part of residence at <br />26 Barberry Rd. as a part-time office forthe practice of medicine. His perman- <br />ent office is at 51 Brattle St. in Cambridge. Practice is limited to family <br />psychiatry. Permission specifically for a multiple -family group meeting on <br />Thursday nights between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. If the meeting does not occur on <br />Thursday there may be a substitute meeting on another week day night. There <br />may be a maximum of 30 people in 12 cars attending. <br />Following the hearings the Board made the following decisions in open <br />meeting: <br />Mobil Oil Corporation - permission unanimously granted to erect and maintain a <br />free-standing sign in accordance with drawings submitted. <br />Mrs. Jack Radlo - variance unanimously granted to build a glazed in porch (24'x <br />14') to replace the present screened in porch leaving a side yard of 18' instead <br />of 20', all in accordance with plot plan and drawings submitted. <br />John and Rosins Buss - permission unanimously granted to continue operation of <br />a roadside stand on the premises for one year with the following conditions: <br />' 1. Sale of products shall be in conformity with section 25.33 of the zoning by- <br />law. <br />2. This permit shall expire on January 25, 1973. <br />3. Only one sign shall be used and that on the front of the building. The sign <br />
