BOARD OF APPEALS <br />n <br />November 3, 1970 <br />' A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held <br />on Tuesday, November 3, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's <br />meeting room, The Bird Room, Cary Memorial Building. Present <br />were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Sheldon, Dawes, Wadsworth <br />and associate member Reed. <br />The following petitions were heard: <br />Viola T. Norlin - permission to continue the operation of the <br />"Manor Nursery School" at 118 Burlington Street, <br />James P. Kiley - variance to allow the completion of construction <br />of a tool shed at the rear of the dwelling at 3 Chase Avenue, leaving <br />insufficient rear yard of 4 ft. 8 in. instead of the required 15 feet. <br />Robert E. Doran - permission to erect and operate a roadside stand <br />for the sale of flowers, plants and other nursery and farm goods on <br />the premises at 150 East Street. <br />Lexington Gardens Inc. - permission by special permit under <br />subsections 12.2 and 24.5 of the Zoning By -Law to store and sell <br />in conjunction with the operation of a nursery at 93 Hancock Street <br />all of the supplementary items specified in subsection 24.5. <br />' Mrs. Mildred A. Hevwood - variance to convert the property at <br />72 Waltham Street into a professional office building. The property, <br />practically surrounded by professional office buildings, has become <br />impossible to rent as a residence. Thus, it is vacant, rundown and <br />in a state of disrepair. <br />Corazzini Bros. - permission to build a boiler room and packing <br />room addition, 24 ft. x 48 ft., to the rear of the existingg boiler <br />and packing room at 1 Blossom Street, formerly numbered 1$$ Blossom <br />Street. <br />Arthur Gaklis - special permit for the Christmas selling season <br />to read: .The hours of the nursery open to the public, during the <br />Christmas selling season of November 19 to December 24, not to <br />exceed 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays and Sundays <br />9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and permission to turn on the four (4) <br />flood lights inside the fenced in area during the above selling <br />hours only and to use a 8 ft. x 6 ft. portable cashiers booth for <br />the Christmas selling season, at 1265 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held <br />during which the following decisions were reached: <br />Viola T. Norlin - granted. <br />James P. Kiley - granted, q-1. <br />Robert E. Doran - granted. <br />Lexington Gardens Inc. - grantedp terminate in 2 years. <br />Mrs. Mildred A. Heywood - no decision <br />Corazzini Bros. - withdrawn prior to meeting date. <br />Arthur Gaklis - granted with exception of flood lights. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. Co�4, <br />(:l AT-1- <br />
