BOARD OF APPEALS <br />June 30, 1970 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held <br />on Tuesday, June 30, 19709 at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's temporary <br />meeting room, The Bird Room, Cary Memorial Building. Present were <br />Chairman Nickerson, regular members Abbott, Dawes, Wadsworth and <br />associate member Emery. <br />The following petitions were heard: <br />Massachusetts Institute of Technology - special permit under <br />Section 30 of the Zoning By -Law of the Town of Lexington in order <br />that it may erect on premises, owned by it, at 235 Wood Street, <br />an experimental antenna, 110 feet high. <br />Robert L.Ossman - permission to vary the zoning of the <br />Town of Lexington to construct a single family dwelling on Lot <br />No. 11, located on a right-of-way called Osgood Drive, which does <br />not constitute a street. <br />S op and Shop Inc. - variance to install and maintain a new <br />rubbish control device, called a compaction unit, on the southerly <br />side of the Stop and Shop supermarket at 36 Bedford Street, with a <br />side yard of 5 feet instead of the required 20 feet. <br />Arthur Gaklis - an amendment to the permit granted September 10, <br />1965 to read: The hours of the nursery opened to the public, not to <br />exceed 7 a.m. to 6 p.m, every day except the months of March, April, <br />May, June, November and December which will be Thursday and Friday <br />until 9 p.m. and petition the board for permission to replace six <br />existing yard lights with five (changed to four) larger flood lights <br />and to maintain a sales office 5 ft. x 6 ft. The nursery is located <br />at 1265 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />At the close of the hearings an executive session was held <br />during which the above requests were discussed and the following <br />decisions reached: <br />Massachusetts Institute of Technology - granted. <br />Robert L. Ossman - granted but posting with Town Clerk held <br />up until a sale of property agreement was <br />completed. Posted on July 22, 1970. <br />Stop and Shop Inc. - granted. <br />Arthur Gaklis - Denied except the hours of operation of the <br />building are extended from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />' R.
