BOARD OF APPEALS HEARING <br />IMay 6, 1969 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on <br />Tuesday, May 6, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office <br />Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Dawes, Abbott, <br />Wadsworth, and Sheldon. <br />The following petitions were heard: <br />Owen S. Lafley for permission to build a two -bar car wash building <br />at 27 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />Mrs. George Russell for a variance of the By -Laws to make an addition <br />to the existing dwelling on 11 Rockville Avenue, leaving a back yard of <br />13 feet instead of the required 15 feet. <br />Eric SandgMist for a variance to partially reduce the minimum front <br />yard from an existing 37' to 25' instead of the required 30', house located <br />at 24 James Street. <br />William Curran for a variance to add an 18' x 22' addition with insuffi- <br />cient frontage to an existing building at 61 Cliffe Avenue. <br />Peter Sowkow for a variance to permit steps at the westerly side of the <br />house at 52 Grassland Street with 12.1 feet instead of the required 15 feet <br />side yard. <br />Frank Compagnone for a special permit for a Planned Unit Development <br />entitled "Springdale Estates, Lexington, Massachusetts" and located at <br />5 Bates Road. _ <br />Americana Corporation for a finding and determination that the proposed <br />office building at 1034-1050 Waltham Street, shown on plane submitted, will <br />constitute a suitable development. <br />At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which <br />the following decisions were reached: <br />Owen S. Lafley - granted. <br />Mrs. George Russell - granted. <br />Eric Sandquist - denied. <br />William Curran - granted. <br />Peter Bowkow - granted. <br />Frank Compagnone - granted subject to the following conditions: <br />1. That drainage be effectively constructed in accordance with <br />requirements of the Engineering Dept. of the Town of Lexington. <br />2. That the sewer be constructed to the edge of the property and <br />carried from that point at the owner's expense to the various <br />lots and Bates Road. <br />Americana Corporation - denied. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m. <br />Clerk <br />
