BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />April 4, 1967 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, <br />April 4, 1967 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Present <br />were Chairman Nickerson and regular members Abbott, Dawes, Sheldon and <br />Wadsworth; also the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. The hearings were called <br />to order at 7:30 p.m. as follows: <br />E. L. Sharkey - for permission to continue the use, and extend for <br />two years beginning March 30, 1967, of the premises known as Lot ill, 16 <br />Hazel Rd., Lexington, as the site of microwave transmitting equipment, in- <br />cluding specifically a long-range calibration unit. <br />Dr. William C. Graham - to vary the sign by-law in order to main- <br />tain present sign in front of office at 21-A Muzzey St. <br />Ella Brehm - to vary the sign by-law in order to erect a free standing <br />sign, 2 ft. x 1-1/2 ft., on aluminum post to be used for directional pur- <br />poses. The address of the property involved is 1640-44 Mass. Ave, and 1 <br />Wallis Court. <br />Adams Pool Corp., Sumner J. Foster Pres. - for approval for the <br />building ofca neighborhood pool for recreational purposes at 316 Emerson <br />Road. <br />' Frederick F. Bird - to vary the Zoning Bp -Law in order to build an <br />extension to present house at 2685 Mass. Ave. which would be 14.2 ft. from <br />the side line instead of the required 20 ft. <br />Todd Realty, Inc. - permission to subdivide a parcel of land oon- <br />taining 12.8 acres, more or less, located next to 157 East St., into <br />lots of not less than 20,000 sq.ft. and having a frontage of not less <br />than 120 ft. (cluster zoning), each in accordance with Sec.8(a)2.f. of <br />the Lexington Zoning By -Law, all as shown on a plan entitled "Saddle Club <br />Estates, Section III, dated March 1, 1967, made by Wilbur C. Nylander and <br />Albert A. Miller, C.E.'s. <br />Vinebrook Swim Corporation - for permission to use Parcel "A" <br />located at the rear of 157 East Street for the building of a neighborhood <br />pool for recreational purposes, which parcel is shown on a plan entitled <br />"Saddle Club Estates, Section III,' dated March 1, 1967, Wilbur C. Nylander <br />and Albert A. Miller, C.E.'s, which parcel does not have the required <br />frontage and therefore requires a variance. <br />Following the hearings an executive session was held during which <br />the following decisions were made: <br />E. L. Sharkey - granted for 2 years. <br />Dr. William C. Graham - granted for 2 years. <br />' Ella Brehm - granted with the condition that the sign shall extend <br />over a fence and not project over the sidewalk. <br />Adams Pool Corp. - granted <br />Frederick F. Bird - granted for 18 ft. instead of the 14.2 requested. <br />
