BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />October 4, 1966 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was <br />held on Tuesday, October 4, 1966 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office <br />Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Foyt, <br />Sheldon and Wadsworth, and associate members Dawes. Also present was <br />the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. At 7:30 p.m. the following hearings were <br />called to order: <br />William and Iris Poward - permission to continue to operate <br />kindergarten of two sessions from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 <br />a.m. to 2:30 p.m, in their home at 15 Ewell Ave., Lexington. <br />Patricia MacDonald - permission to continue operation of a day <br />care center at her home, 540 Massachusetts Ave., Monday through Friday, <br />9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for not more than ten children. <br />Mal's Servicenter (Mal felt ikian) - to continue the use of operat- <br />ing, a general automobile repair shop and for storage of cars at 7 Massa- <br />chusetts Ave., Lexington, which is in a C 2 district. <br />Mystic Valley Mental_ Health Association, Inc. - for permission <br />to install an exterior iron fire escape on the three-stery building at <br />186 Bedford St. to provide a second exit from the third floor, required <br />by safety regulations to permit use of the third floor for offices and <br />' consultation rooms, in accordance with the Board of Appeals Permit dated <br />February 1, 1966. <br />Cecil and Maw A. Splaine - requested to vary the Lexington Zoning <br />a <br />By -Law in order to create buildable lot, numbered Lot 163 Webster Rd., <br />which has 125 ft. frontage instead of the required 150 ft, and 11,362 sq. <br />ft. area instead of the required 30,000 sq.ft., due to a State taking. <br />Donna Realty Trust (Frank Compagnone) - to vary the Lexington <br />Zoning by -Law in order to erect a single family dwelling at 65 Blake Rd. <br />which would have a frontage of 75 ft. and an area of 10,660 sq.ft. <br />At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during <br />which the following decisions were reached: <br />William and Iris Howard - granted <br />Patricia MacDonald - granted <br />Mal's Servicenter - granted <br />Mystic Valley Mental Health Assn.,Inc. - denied <br />Cecil and Mary A. Splaine - denied <br />Donna Realty trust - denied <br />With regard to the Mystic <br />Valley M ental Health Assn. petition, <br />due to the fact that they had no <br />firm plans having made no <br />decision as to <br />' <br />what or where the fire escape was <br />time and entertain a re -petition <br />to go, it was decided to <br />when a final decision has <br />deny at this <br />been made. <br />, Since a very informal sketch <br />had been presented Eby <br />the petitioner <br />
