BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />' September 1,1964. <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on <br />Tuesday, September 1, 1964, in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Build- <br />ing, Lexington. In the absence of Mr. Nickerson, Mr. Charles Abbott <br />served as Chairman Pro Tem. Also present were regular members Hoyt, <br />Ripley and Wadsworth and alternate Morey. <br />The following petitions were heard: <br />Nancy C ock for permission to continue to operate a kinder <br />garten in her home at 8 Marrett Road, three mornings a week, October 15 <br />through May 15. <br />Mrs. Ralph Schontag for permission to continue operation of a kin- <br />dergarten five days a week at her home 296 Woburn St. <br />Montessori School, Tnc. for permission to continue operation of a <br />kindergarten and nursery school for 24 children in Temple Isaiah, <br />Lincoln St. five mornings a week. <br />Peter H. and Elizabeth Ten Eyck for permission to maintain a front <br />yard of 28,3 ft. instead of the required 30 ft. at 8 Field Rd., Lexing- <br />ton, which has side yards of 8.3 ft. and 9.4 ft. instead of the required <br />10 ft., and a setback of 18.5 ft. instead of the required 30 ft- <br />Hayden <br />t.Ha den Recreation Centre, Inc. requested permission (1) erect, under <br />Sec. (a)7.d. of the Zoning By-law, a private recreation building of a <br />non-commercial and non-profit nature on the grounds of the Josiah Willard <br />Hayden Recreation Centre, Inc., 26 Lincoln St. according to plans sub- <br />mitted; (2) vary Art. X. Sec. 1 of the Lexington Building By-law to per- <br />mit construction of a building of second class construction having an <br />area between fire walls of over 10,000 sq.ft. on the grounds of the Josiah <br />Willard Hayden Recreation Centre, Inc., 24 Lincoln St., in accordance with <br />plans submitted. <br />Richard L. and Margaret B. Reeves requested permission to maintain <br />existing dwelling at 12 Carley Rd., Lexington, which has side yards of <br />8.3 ft. and 9.4 ft. instead of the required 10 ft., and a setback of 18.5 <br />ft. instead of the required 30 ft. <br />Charles Crothers requested permission to erect a garage and storage <br />area connected to the existing house at 15 Woodcliffe Rd. which would <br />have a 17 ft. setback instead of the required 30 ft. <br />Charles C. and Anne E. Johnson requested permission to build a swim- <br />---- -- — <br />ming pool within 5 to 8 feet of the rear property line at 15 Young St. instead <br />of the required 15 ft. <br />' At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during <br />which the following decisions were reached: <br />
