341 <br />BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />September 26, 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, September <br />26, 1961. Present were Chairman Nickerson, members Ripley, Ballard <br />and Redman, and associate member Hoyt. At 7:30 p.m. hearings were de- <br />clared open on the following petitions: <br />First National Stores - to erect and maintain sign 3 ft. x 4 <br />ft., set on a single pipe pole at entrance to parking area at 60 Bed- <br />ford St. <br />Muriel E. York - to operate a day nursery, to be known as the <br />Lexington Day Nursery., to care for not more than ten pre-school child- <br />ren between the hours of 8:00 and 5:30 at 197 Grant St. <br />Grace Chapel - to maintain a sign 216" x 3'6" with two new <br />signs attached as wings, each 2' x 116". This combination of signs to <br />be affixed to a brick -faced wall in the place of present sign at Grace <br />Chapel on Worthen Rd. <br />Marlin E. Whitne - to subdivide parcel of land at 1115 Mass. <br />Ave. into w s, one or which has a structure on it, each lot having <br />' <br />sufficient area but insufficient frontage. <br />Anthony Gallo - to subdivide parcel of land at 2 Deming Rd. <br />into twoo� sem, one- of which has a structure on it, both lots having in- <br />sufficient area. <br />Raytheon Company - to maintain free-standing directional sign, <br />4 ft. x 5 ft., appr�maafely 1,150 ft. from center of Spring St.; and <br />also to maintain free-standing sign, 1-1/2 ft. x 919", 59 ft. from center <br />of Spring St. and 10 ft. from access driveway to the building. <br />The Atlantic Refining Co. - to maintain two non -conforming free- <br />standing s gns a sere ce stamen located at corner of Lowell and Woburn <br />Sts. <br />At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held durs <br />ing which the following decisions were reached: <br />First National Stores - granted <br />Muriel E. York - granted <br />Grace Chapel - granted <br />Marlin E. Whitney - granted <br />Anthony Gallo - granted <br />Raytheon Co. - granted <br />The Atlantic Refining Co. - one sign granted <br />' <br />All pertinent material with regard to each petition is on file <br />in individual folders. <br />Ruth C.
