2 <br />BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING <br />JUNE 6, 1930. <br />A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held <br />at the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at <br />8 P.M. Messrs. Maddison, Glynn, Custance, Slocum <br />and Miss Evelyn Small were present. Mr. Roland <br />W. Baldrey, Clerk, being absent, the Chairman <br />appointed Mr. C. Edward Glynn clerk pro -tem. <br />At 8:13 P.M. hearing was declared open on the <br />petition of Frank A. and Mary Napoli for permission <br />to erect a roadside stand on Marrett Road near the <br />Napoli junction of Middle Street. <br />Hearing. A petition signed by 38 people who had no <br />objection to the roadside stand was read by Mr. <br />Thomas Napoli. He also presented a plan of the <br />proposed location of the stand. <br />Nr. Napoli was asked by the Chairman what <br />provision was to be made for the parking of cars. <br />Mr. Napoli stated that there is a frontage of 150' <br />to cane in and purchase the products, and also <br />apple room around the stand; there was room enough <br />to accommodate ten cars when the stumps are cleared <br />away. He also stated that he only planned to sell the <br />products raised on their awn premises. Mr. Napoli <br />stated that the stand was to be placed on concrete <br />blocks, the stand being 20 x 12' and it could be <br />moved away at any time. <br />Mr. Thomas J. Heaney stated that he had no <br />objection to the roadside stand. <br />In reply to Mr. Glynn's question, Mr. Napoli <br />stated that he had 14k acres of land and had been <br />selling his products at the roadside stand for the <br />paast two years. <br />Mr. Frank Napoli stated that he was not satisfied <br />with a temporary stand as the vegetables spoil from <br />the heat and the stand had been broken into twice <br />previously. <br />Mr. J. C. Gramstorff stated that he was an abuttor <br />on Middle Street. He was in favor of the petition <br />saying that it was the only means of livelihood of <br />Mr. Napoli and for the past two years he had conducted <br />a very good stand. <br />Mrs. C. A. Gramstorff also stated that she was <br />in favor of the petition. <br />Mr. Neil McIntosh wrote h' letter:°regarding the <br />situation. <br />Mr. Robert J. Fawcett stated that 12 years ago <br />he came to Lexin-ton and bought a place on Marrett <br />Road which is opposite the Napoli property, and <br />set out 100 trees, and the building Mr. Napoli proposed <br />to erect is directly opposite his premises.. Mr. <br />Fawcett stated that he has three acres of land, 500' <br />on Marrett Road. He intends to put up some houses <br />on his land and objects to having a stand opposite them. <br />
