Lexington Tree Committee <br /> Town of Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> 201 Bedford Street, Samuel Hadley Public Services Building, Room 125 <br /> Minutes, Meeting of December 14, 2017 <br /> Attendees: John Frey (Chairman), Gerry Paul, Jewel Kuljian, Nancy Sofen, Jim Wood and Tree <br /> Committee member candidate Pat Moyer. <br /> Gerry Paul took his turn as scribe. <br /> 1. Minutes of the November 9th meeting were approved as amended. <br /> 2. Tree inventory- no new information <br /> 3. Tree bylaw activity- no new information <br /> 4. Tree Management Manual update, Bruce Walker compensation -will be voted on when we have <br /> approximate cost. <br /> 5. 2017 Tree Planting - no new information <br /> 6. Mass Ave Sidewalk reconstruction -deferred <br /> 7. New TC member search -John will see if there is anything more the TC must do. Pat Moyer will fill <br /> out an application. <br /> 8. Tree Committee website update - not discussed. <br /> 9. Striped Maple replacement in Nell Walker's grove- no new information <br /> 10. Amend Tree Bylaw to address dense housing developments- no new information <br /> 11. Emerald Ash Borer out reach. Javier Marin from the Mass Department of Agricultural Resources <br /> presented potential programs to encourage early identification of Emerald Ash Borer. He will follow <br /> up after the new year. Jordan McCarron from the Lexington Conservation Department will <br /> coordinate. <br /> 12. Tree planting locations/planting best practices study- Nancy, Jim and Gerry presented a summary of <br /> interviews with the tree wardens of Cambridge, Belmont and Watertown. Will be discussed further at <br /> future meetings. <br /> Next regular meeting: January 18th, 2018, 7:30 a.m. at DPW <br />
