`p}5 MORN p4 1775 �G 3 aO APRIL I@ �FXINGTQ� APPROVED MEETING MINUTES Committee Name: Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee Date, Time and Location of Meeting: Thursday, October 19, 7 pm, Room 217 Lexington Community Center Members Present: Peggy Enders (Chair), Laurel Carpenter, Bob Dangel, Mike Tabaczynski, George Gagliardi, Sandra Shaw (Recreation Committee Liaison), Joe Pato (Selectman Liaison) Members Absent: Jennifer Melot, Bob Hausslein Others Present: Sgt Paul Callahan (Police) John Baron, 33 Centre Street The September 2017 meeting minutes were approved as amended. Committee Membership Updates The Committee agreed to recommend to the Board of Selectmen two new members: Kevin Falcone, 8 Circle Road, and Lou Savarino, 7 Partridge Road. Kevin Falcone and Lou Savarino are both active bicyclists with energy and interest. Peggy said she has been in contact with both Lou and Kevin since the September meeting and they continue to be interested. The vote to elect these two individuals was unanimous. The chair will contact the BOS to let them know of the Committee vote and to request these two appointments to the committee. Associate Membership status The committee also proposed the practice of having associate members. Associate membership would be open to persons who are interested in advancing the objectives of LBAC. The chair said she would inquire about adding such a membership status to the Committee. Police Liaison Although in practice a liaison from the Police Department has attended Committee meetings for a number of years, this relationship has not been formalized. Currently, the Committee charge specifies a liaison from the Conservation Commission, but this relationship was discontinued when Stew Kennedy left, and since other committees had assumed responsibility for most of the trail work. The chair will be in touch with the Selectmen's Office to ask about revising the Committee charge to remove the Conservation liaison role and replacing it with a liaison from the Police Department.
