412 <br />Use of <br />Hall <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />February 9, 1942 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Monday <br />evening, February 9, 1942 at 8:40 P.M. Chairman Giroux, <br />Messrs. Potter, Rowse, Locke, and Sarano were present. <br />The Clerk was also present. <br />Mr. Paxton appeared before the Board. <br />He stated that the Briggs Class had requested the use <br />of Cary Hall on March 19th from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. <br />for the purpose of holding a concert. The charge for ad- <br />mission will be 54. <br />Mr. Potter moved that the use of the hall be granted, <br />subject to a charge of $15.00. Mr. Locke seconded the <br />motion, and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Paxton said that the Lexington Minute -Men had re- <br />quested the use of a conference room on February 18th for <br />the purpose of holding a meeting. <br />Mr. Potter moved that the use of the hall be granted, <br />free of charge. Mr. Locke seconded the motion, and it was <br />so voted. <br />Mr. Paxton said that the American Legion requested <br />the use of Cary Hall on February 23rd from 2:00 P.M. to <br />6:00 P.M. for the purpose of holding the Sunlight Dance. <br />This will be one of the Post's free uses. <br />Mr. Locke moved that the use of the hall be granted <br />free of charge. Mr. Potter seconded the motion, and it <br />was so voted. <br />Mr. Paxton said that the Auxiliary Police had requested <br />the use of Cary Hall on March 5th for the purpose of holding <br />a lectum <br />Mr. Potter moved that the use of the hall be granted, <br />free of charge. Mr. Locke seconded the motion, and it was <br />so voted. <br />Mr. Paxton said that the average bill for electricity <br />in January in the Town Offices and the Cary Memorial <br />Light Building for the past three years has been $132.49, and <br />bill in January, 1942 it was $170.05. It is believed that the <br />Increase in the bill is due to the various uses by the <br />Civilian Defense Committee. <br />• <br />• <br />�J <br />
