458 <br />SELECTKEN+S MEETING <br />December 16, 1940 ' <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building at 7:30 P.M. <br />Chairman Giroux, Messrs. Potter, Rowse, Locke and Sarano <br />were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />At the request of the Board, Mr. Rowse left to attend <br />Mr. Rowse a meeting at the Selectmen's office in Arlington with Mr. <br />Food Stamp William Bauer, a representative of. the Surplus Marketing <br />'Plan meet- Administration, who was to outline the Food Stanp Plan. <br />ling Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Locke, it <br />was voted to instruct Mr. Rowse to inform Mr. Bauer that <br />the Selectmen of Lexinvton would like to have the Food Stamp <br />Plan inaugurated in Lexington. <br />1 <br />At 7:30 P.M. hearing was declared open on the petition <br />Pet. to <br />of the Boston Edison Company and the New England Telephone <br />'erect 2 & <br />and Telegraph Company for permission to erect two poles and <br />remove 1 <br />remove one pole on Burlington Street at Redcoat Lane. No <br />pole <br />persons appeared in favor or in opposition. <br />Mr. Locke moved that the petition be granted. Mr. <br />Potter seconded the motion, and it was so voted. <br />At 7:35 P. M. Mr. James J. Carroll appeared before <br />the Board and submitted bids received on a loan of $$150,000.00 <br />' <br />in anticipation of revenue. Bids were received as follows: <br />Lexington Trust Company .054% Discount <br />';$1501000. <br />Second National Bank .056% fi <br />loan <br />Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co. .047% <br />Mr. Locke moved that the bid of the Boston Safe Depostt <br />& Trust Co. of .047j be approved. Mr. Potter seconded the <br />motion and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Carroll informed the Board that he had received a <br />$4500.00 <br />bid of .30% from the Lexington Trust Company on the loan of <br />loan <br />$4500.00 in anticipation of Federal grant on the Vine Brook <br />Sewer and Drainage Project. <br />Mr. Potter moved that the bid be approved. Mr. Locke <br />seconded the motion, and it was so voted. <br />At 7:40 P.M. Messrs. Raymond and Paxton appeared before <br />the Board. <br />Mr. Raymond said he had looked up the Ruggiero claim <br />and found that Ruggiero could sue within a certain length <br />of time as he was a mortgagee when we made the taking. <br />1 <br />
