298 <br />SELECTMEN t S MEDT ING , <br />August 12, 1940. <br />A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br />held in the Solectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 4150 <br />P.Y. Chairman Giroux, and Messrs. Saran and Potter were <br />present. The Clerk was also present. <br />The Clerk was instructed to call a meeting of the <br />Ambulance committee appointed to establish rales and regulations <br />committee for the use of the ambulance for Thursday evening, Aug- <br />ust 15 at 8100 P.M. <br />Mr. Beach appeared before the Board. The Chairman <br />Complaint told him that he had received a complaint that the W.P. <br />res W.P. A. men working on the North Hancock Street drain were <br />A. mene using bad language, etc. He requested Mr. Beach to talk <br />to the men about the complaint. <br />Letter was received from Chief Edward W. Taylor <br />suggesting that the following equipment.be purchased for <br />the sambulance t <br />Short Wave Radio Receiving Set ' <br />1 Loader Light ever Rear Door <br />No 1 First Aid Kit <br />4 Rubber Sheets 72" x 108" <br />12 Bed Sheets 45" x 90" <br />12 Pillow Cases <br />4 Feather Pillows- 18" x 28" <br />6 All Wool Blankets 60" x 80" (singles) <br />12 Huck Towels 12"_ x 18" <br />12 Face Cloths 12" <br />6 Bath Towels 22" x 44" <br />The Chairman said that he had talked to the Town <br />Accountant about these supplies, and it had been decided <br />that they could be paid for from the Unclassified Account. <br />Supplies It was decided to purchase all of the supplies, with the <br />for am- exception of the short wave radio set and the loader light <br />bulance over the rear door, and to charge the expense to the <br />Unclassified Account. <br />The Chairman said that James Guthrie used to be in <br />charge of the welfare crew and was paid fifty cents per <br />hour. Mr. Guthrie had been ill, but is now able to return. <br />Mr. Potter moved that Mr. Guthrie be returned to his former <br />position at the same rate of pay. Mr. Sarano seconded the <br />
