238 <br />SELECTMENtS MEETING ' <br />June 24, 1940. <br />. The Chairman said that the American Legion had a chance <br />to get the First Corps Cadet Band for Thursday evening, June <br />27th, and it wished permission to hold a concert on the Buck- <br />man Tavern grounds. The Legion wanted the Town to put up <br />the bandstand and to fix the cable for lights from the ' <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen is Room, Town Office Building, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Chairman Giroux, Messrs. Potter, Rowse, Locke and Sarano <br />were present.. The Clerk was also present. <br />At 7:30 P.M. Mr. Lloyd C. Morang, Pres. of the Lexing- <br />ton Ridge, Inc. and his engineer appeared before the Board <br />Lex. Ridge <br />and presented a plan of proposed streets in the Lexington <br />Bd. of <br />Ridge Development located on Burlington Street, Lexington. <br />Survey <br />They requested the Selectmen, acting as the Board of Survey <br />hearing <br />to approve the layout of the development. <br />Mr. Owen McDevitt was present at the hearing and after <br />looking at the plans, said he had no objection to the layout. <br />No other persons wishing to be heard, the hearing was declared <br />closed at 7:43 P.M. <br />Mr. Wrightington appeared before the Board. The Chairman <br />asked him what would have this development comply with the <br />new Board of Survey Regulations, Mr. Wrightington said <br />that there should be some provision for the disposal of sur- <br />face water and that the plans should show the catch basins, <br />drains, etc. He thought that Mr. Morang should give some <br />sort of an agreement to the Town saying that he would <br />, <br />construct the drainage system in accordance with the regula- <br />tions. <br />Mr. Rowse went upstairs to talk to the Planning Board <br />on the subject. Mr. Greeley said that he felt that the Town <br />Engineer was supposed to see that the requirements of the <br />Board of Survey regulations were complied with and that he <br />was supposed to obtain an agreement on drainage from the <br />developer prior to the submission of the plans of the Board. <br />Mr. Greeley also said that this piece of property went from <br />Burlington Street down to quite a steep grade making it Im- <br />possible t drain and sewer :.from Burlington Street. He <br />thought th re should be an agreement from the developer to <br />purchase through the swamp to the main sewer a permanent <br />easement so that in the future it would be possible to <br />lay a sewer to the property. <br />The Chairman requested the Clerk to instruct the Town <br />Engineer to confer with Mr. Wrightington on all these various <br />questions in connection with the Board of Survey regulations. <br />.
