172 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING. <br />FEB. 90 1939. <br />A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 9:00 <br />P.M. Chairman Giroux and Messrs. Potter and Rowse were <br />prevent. <br />The Board met with the Appropriation Committee and dis- <br />cussed at great length the W.P.A. program and the salary <br />question. <br />On motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Rowse, the <br />following salary adjustments are to be recommended to the <br />Town Meeting: <br />Clayton F. Beach - $32.50 per week. <br />John T. Cosgrove - 3120.00 per year <br />John F. O'Connor - 32.00 per week <br />Cidaliza Souza - 13.00 <br />Joseph A. Ross - 48.00 " n <br />Salaries. Ruth Hayes - 14.00 <br />John J. Garrity - 42.00 <br />Doris Ohlson - 15.00 n " <br />George V. Morse - 32.00 " n <br />Muriel Edkins - 15.00 " tt <br />Mrs. Mary Casey - 15.00 n n <br />Eleanor M. Lowe - 34.00 n n <br />Elinor Moakley - 24.00 n rr <br />James H. Russell - 3200.00 " year <br />Request was received for the certification of the <br />Cert. of character of George E. Streeter, 83 Cary Ave., one of the <br />character. incorporators of The Temple Choir of Lowell, Mass., Inc. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Rowse, it was <br />voted to sign the statement of character. <br />Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Rowse, it <br />was voted to grant the following licenses: <br />Licenses. Fair Oaks Dairy - Past. of Milk License <br />Lowland Dairy Farm <br />Swenson Brothers <br />Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Rowse, it <br />Abatement. was voted to abate the water bill on the Aldrich property <br />in the amount of $3.44, there being no funds available to <br />pay this bill. <br />The Chairman read a letter received from Theodore N. <br />Chap. 500 Waddell, Director of Accounts, relative to funds provided <br />by Chapter 500 of the Acts'of 1958. The letter stated <br />that under Chapter 2, Acts of 1939, cities and towns may <br />at once arrange to use the balances of funds provided by <br />Chapter 500, subject to an appropriation by the Town <br />Meeting.
