122ND <br />�7 <br />.y <br />SELECTMETd'S RECORDS <br />JMT. 19, 1939. <br />A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 7:00 <br />P.M. Chairman Giroux and Messrs. Rowse and Potter were <br />present. Mr. Ross arrived at 7:30 P. M. <br />The Chairman stated that Mr. Russell P. Briggs had <br />Permit for <br />requested permission to erect Community Flag posters in <br />Community <br />Lexington Center, during the duration of the 1939 Drive. <br />Fund Drive. <br />Mr. Rowse moved that the requested permission be granted. <br />Mr. Potter seconded the motion, and it was so voted. <br />Letter was received from the Chief of the Fire Depart- <br />ment relative to the Storm Emergency Account. He stated <br />that in accordance with the instructions of the Selectmen <br />Letter from <br />dated January 7th, the emergency repair work had been <br />Fire Dept. <br />immediately discontinued. Mr. Taylor said that he had <br />re Storm <br />received an estimate from Louis Bills in the amount of $350 <br />Emergency <br />for completing the work. Mr. Taylor asked if this amount <br />should be included in his regular budget for 1939, or-if it <br />could be.charged to the Storm Emergency Account. The Chairman <br />invited the Town Accountant before the Board, and requested <br />him to submit a statement on the Storm Emergency Account for <br />pent <br />next Monday night, this statement to show the amounts spent.,- <br />balances, etd. Ar. Russell said that he would prepare such <br />balances, <br />a statement for the Board. <br />Letter was received from the Lexington Fruit Go., Inc.. <br />stating that as a result of an order f rom the Board of <br />Parking, <br />Selectmen, the police officers on duty in the center were <br />Ave. <br />enforcing very strictly the "No Parking"' regulation at the <br />(Mass. <br />& <br />bus stop at the corner of ',ass. Ave. and Waltham Street. The' <br />Waltham St. <br />Lexington Fruit Co. requested written permission to load and <br />unload their trucks on Mass. Avenue at the corner of Waltham <br />Street in front of their store--1740 Mass. Ave. The Board <br />felt that it could not grant permission to load and unload <br />on Mass. Avenue. Mr. Rowse moved that the bus stop on <br />Waltham Street at the corner of Mass. Ave. be discontinued. <br />Mr. Potter Seco coded the motion and it was so voted. The <br />Clerk was instructed to request the Lexington Fruit Co. to <br />load and unload its trucks on Waltham Street at the corner <br />of Mass.
