204 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />DLC. 29th, 1936 <br />A regular meeting of'the Board of Selectmen was <br />held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, <br />at 7:30 P.M. Chairman Ferguson, Messrs. Potter, Giroux <br />and,Ross were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />Mr. Raymond informed the Board that he had estimated <br />Childs' it would cost $2400, to extend the main in Watertown <br />service. Street from its present end to Calvin Childs' lot and <br />$450. for extending a service across the lot. <br />Mr. Raymond stated that he would like the Board to <br />allow him to use hia own judgment on motor oil and try <br />Motor oil. out different oils and make his own decision. Mr. <br />Giroux moved that Mr. Raymond be authorized to purchase <br />motor oil Yh ere, as and how he sees fit. Mr. Potter <br />seconded the motion and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Raymond informed the Board that he found the <br />Lights in lighting in front of the High School very poor and he <br />front of thought that it showed up more on account of the lighting <br />High School in front of the Town Office Buildings. He stated that <br />increased candle power would not do much good but twice <br />as many lights would. The Chairman suggested that he <br />discuss'the matter with the Edison Co. and get an <br />estimate on the cost of improving the lighting and he <br />agreed to do this. <br />Mr. Raymond informed the Board that he had settled <br />�Roabhe and James Roache's claim for $110. which p=ays over 77 hours <br />Kenego claims. labor at $1.30 per hour and Charles Kenego's claim for - <br />$21.06 which pays for 18 hours at $1.17. Mr. Giroux <br />moved that Mr. Raymond's action be approved by the <br />Board. Mr. Potter seconded the motion and it was so <br />voted. <br />Mr. Raymond informed the Board that last summer <br />Accident to .when Mr. Paxton was on his vacation, James Cassello was <br />Paxton's car. driving his car out of the Public Works Building when he <br />was in collision with a car operated by a Carroll Dunham <br />of Bedford. The Highway Dept. paid for the damage to <br />Mr. Paxto is car and Mr. Raymond thought that the <br />Town migR be able to recover if the Town Counsel took <br />the matter to the Small Claims Court, Mr. Giroux <br />suggested that Mr. Raymond tAlk over the matter with <br />Mr. Wrightington. <br />Letter was received from John F. Daly of 54 Forest <br />Street stating that he did have a definite suggestion as <br />to the location of the poles on Blossom Street. However, <br />1 <br />
