1 <br />SELECTMENtS MEETING <br />MARCH 16, 1936. <br />A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br />held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Offied Building, at <br />6:50 P.M. Chairman Ferguson, Messrs, Potter, Giroux, <br />Clark and Ross were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />The Chairman brought up the matter of designating <br />salaries when the appropriations are made at the Town <br />Meeting. He stated that it was the opinion of the <br />Director of Accounts that separate accounts should be <br />kept if the salaries were specified in the votes and <br />he thought that it was a poor practice to continue. <br />The Chairman stated that if the Board insisted upon <br />separating the appropriations, there was a question <br />whether or not Mr. Russell could do all the work. <br />Mr. Giroux stated that he was in favor of having <br />Mr. Ferguson --get the sense of the Meeting and if he <br />thought the Town Meeting Members were so disposed, to <br />proceed to present the votes without specifying the <br />salaries and he made a motion to this effect. Mr. <br />Clark seconded the motion and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Ferguson brought up the fact that the Board <br />voted last week to increase the appropriation for <br />Elections and Registrations by $388.00. He stated <br />that there was a difference of opinion between the <br />Appropriation Committee, Town Clerk Carroll and the <br />Selectmen on this increase. Mr. Clark moved that the <br />vote of last week to inerdase the appropriation by <br />$388. be rescinded. Mr. Giroux seconded the motion <br />and it was so voted. Mr. Clark then moved that an <br />appropriation of $2299.00 be approved for Elections <br />and Registrations. Mr. Giroux seconded the motion and <br />it was so voted. <br />361 <br />Question of <br />specifying <br />salaries in <br />votes. <br />Elections <br />and <br />Regi s tra t iors <br />Budget. <br />Mr. Clark moved that the evious vote of the Board. Law <br />approving an appropriation of $3000, for the Law Dept. Dept. <br />be rescinded. Mr. Giroux seconded the motion and -it Budget. <br />was so voted. Mr. Clark then moved that $2500. be <br />approved for the Law Dept. appropriation. Mr. Giroux <br />seconded the motion and it was so voted. <br />Mr. Clark moved that the previous vote of the Board <br />approving an appropriation for $1000. for printing the Town <br />Town Report be rescinded. Mr. Giroux seconded the Report <br />motion and it was so voted. Mr. Clark then moved that Budget. <br />the Board approve the sum of 01126.73 for the printing <br />of the Town Report, Mr. Giroux seconded the motion and <br />it was so voted. <br />
