SELECTMEN t S MEETING <br />' JAN. 140 1936. <br />A regular meeting of the Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 8:00 o'clock <br />P.M. Messrs. Ferguson, Potter, Lyons, Giroux and Clark <br />were present: The Clerk was also present. <br />'At 8:05 P.M. hearing was declared open on the <br />application of Ivar D. Johnson for permission to main- <br />tain a one car garage at lot #35 Cary Street, Lexington. <br />Mr. Johnson appeared and presented plan of the proposed <br />garage. No persons appeared in opposition. <br />Mr. Lyons moved that the permit be granted subject <br />to the approval of the Building Inspector. Mr. Potter <br />seconded the motion and it was so voted. <br />2,01 <br />Johnson <br />garage <br />hearing. <br />April 19th <br />Committee. <br />Dr. Walsh submitted a request from the Allied Memorial <br />Veterans that the Town appropriate $250* for the proper Day <br />observance of Memorial Day, and the Chairman advised Appropria. <br />him that the Board had already approved an appropriation tion. <br />of this amount. <br />' Dr. Walsh submitted a request from the Allied <br />veterans that the Town appropriate $500, for the proper <br />observance of the 19th of April. Fos ercannd Dr. Walsh that <br />the Sachem Council of the Boy*Scouts of America had <br />requested that a representative of its organization be <br />appointed to the Committee and asked if the Allied <br />Veteranst Council would have any objection to such an <br />appointment. Dr. Walsh stated that they would object <br />as they were protesting the action of the Sachem Council <br />in not allowing one troup from Jamaica Plain to parade <br />last year. The Sachem Council does not allow its members <br />to parade or take part in patriotic exercises. Mr. Lyons <br />stated that perhaps a member being appointed to the <br />Committee iaight help to straighten out the difficulties <br />between the organizations.
