' SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />MARCH 12, 1935. <br />A regular meeting of the "Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 7:30 P. M. <br />Messrs. Ferguson, Trask, Gilereast, Lyons and Potter <br />were present. The Clerk was also present. <br />Town Counsel and Supt. of the Water and Sewer Dept. <br />ea,me before the Board and discussed the matter of the <br />suit brought by Charles Lanzell of Bellflower Street of <br />$200. against the Town, notice of which was received from <br />the Town Clerk. Papers in regard to the matter were all <br />turned over to the Town Counsel for his attention. <br />Mr. Ross in a letter to the Board explained that <br />Mr. Lanzell applied for anextension of the water main <br />in Bellflower Street and at that time he was requested <br />to sign a guarantee bond "and have two persons in the town <br />sign as_sureties -Being'a new comer in the Town he stat- <br />ed that he did not know anybody to sign for him as surety <br />and Mr. Ross informed him that he would install the water <br />i f Mr. Lanzell would make a deposit covering the interest <br />cost for two years. Mr. Ross figured the interest would <br />' be $60. a year and NLr. Lanzell deposited the $120. At <br />the end of the two years he would not file the guarantee <br />bond and sureties and requested his money back. This <br />Mr. Ross refused to do and therefor he broughtsuit against <br />the town in the amount of $200.00. <br />The Board voted to turn the matter over to the Town <br />Counsel for his attention. <br />Letter was read written by the Town Counsel in ref- <br />erence to the proposed motor car salesroom or open shed <br />Which Eugene Viano desires to build to be attached to the <br />Colonial Garage, <br />Mr. Wrightington stated that after m ading over the <br />sewereasement,ahe, did`het think this.open shed would in- <br />terfere with the easement unless they build a concrete <br />base which would bring it over the ten foot strip cov- <br />ered in the easement. He understood, however, from Mr. <br />Longbottom that they did not want to put in a concrete <br />base, but simply wanted an open shed with roof support- <br />ed by posts leaving all sides open. Town Counsel thought, <br />however, that Mr. Viano must have a hearing before the <br />Board of Appeals. <br />343 <br />Lanzell <br />Suit . <br />!i` <br />Open Shed <br />at Colon- <br />ial Garage. <br />Letter was received from the Town Counsel relative <br />to the lotting plan of EugeneB. Hamilton which he filed <br />' at East Cambridge and which was discussed by the Board <br />at their last meeting when Mr. Hamiltons representa- <br />t1ve came before the Board with a plan at the request ofthe <br />
