<br />SELECTMENfS MEETING
<br />JANUARY 22, 1935.
<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held
<br />in the Selectmen's Office Town Office Building, at 7:30
<br />P. M. Messrs. Trask, Gilcreast, Ferguson, O'Connell and
<br />Lyons were present.. The Clerk was also present.
<br />Birthday Invitation to the President Roosevelt's Birthday Ball
<br />Ball. to be held on January 30th was received by the Board.
<br />Letter was received from the Treasurer of the Lexing-
<br />ton Savings Bank in which he advised that on December 31,
<br />Cemetery 1934 there.was on deposit at the Lexington Savings Bank
<br />Funds. under Trustees of Public Trusts, Cemetery Funds, a total
<br />principal of $21,235. representing 162 separate accounts.
<br />Certification was signed by the Board for the incor-
<br />poration of the Stanley Hill Post of the American Legion
<br />Incorporationof Mass, State Post ##38, Inc, certifying to the following
<br />Stanley Hill names: Albert A. Ross, Raymond L. White., Edmund A. Webb,
<br />Post. Clifford M. Martin, James J. Walsh, Hiram W. Jackson.,
<br />Charles A. McCormack, Clyde A. Booker, Pieere A Northrup, ,

<br />Letter was received from Nelson B. Crosby, Represent-
<br />ative in which he acknowledged the letter of the Board

<br />relative to the bill proposed to prohibit the sale of
<br />Liquor
<br />liquor on Sundays except where bona fide meals are served.
<br />Bill.
<br />He stated that he would be glad to follow the matter up
<br />as soon as the bill is printed.
<br />Letter was received from John S. Valentine of 1698

<br />Mass. Avenue in which he tendered his.resignation as a mem-

<br />ber of the Board of Assessors on account of his absence
<br />Resignation*
<br />from town.
<br />The Board voted to accept the resignation and to lay
<br />the matter on the table until the appointment of the
<br />assessors whose terms run out in March are made.
<br />The Town's copy of the Grant Agreement reducing the
<br />,Standpipe
<br />amount from $11,000 to $7500, was received by the Board,
<br />Agreement.
<br />this being in connection with the construction of the
<br />1,000,.000 gallon steel standpipe.
<br />Letter was received from the Department of Public
<br />Stop Signs.
<br />Works enclosing records for approval of isolated stop
<br />signs which will be erected by the State on houtes 2A
<br />and 4 Bedford St. at Shawsheen Road, North Hancock St.
<br />and Westview Street.
