568 <br />A <br />n <br />�c <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />APRIL 3, 1934. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at <br />the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, April <br />3rd, 1934 at 8:10 P. M. Messrs. Trask, Gilcreast, Ferguson, <br />Lyons, and O'Connell were present at the meeting. The Clerk <br />was also present. <br />Bids on the temporary loan of $150,000. were presented <br />by James J. Carroll, Town Treasurer, as follows: <br />Lexington Trust Co. .79 <br />1st Corp. of Boston .565 <br />2nd National Bank .78 <br />Newton Abby -,-67 <br />It was voted to award the bid to the lstt Corporation of <br />Boston, and to authorize the Town Treasurer to accept the bid. <br />Commitment of water rates for the 2nd section in the <br />amount of $5307.13, together with hydrant rental commitment <br />of $1908.75 were signed by the Board, also water lien commit- <br />ment amounting to $251.87. <br />Hearing was declared open upon the application of Arthur <br />' <br />E. Parker of 165 Follen iLoad for permission to maintain a, <br />two car garage of stone construction at that address. <br />Mr. Frederick Connor, builder for Mr. Parker, came be- <br />fore the Board and presented the plan of the proposed garage. <br />No persons appeared to object and it was voted to grant the <br />permit. <br />In reference to the request of Albert A. Ross to be ap- <br />pointed a Special Police Officer, the Chairman stated that <br />he would talk with Mr. Ross about the matter. <br />Letter was received from the State Commissioner of <br />Health in which the name ;rf Mathew Stevenson as Inspector of <br />Slaughtering for the year ending Larch 31, 1935 was approved. <br />It was therefore voted to appoint Mr. Stevenson as <br />Health Inspector for the near ending March 31, 1935. <br />Letter was received from the American Legion requesting <br />permission to erect a food booth at Depot Square on April <br />19th, the same to.be operated by Legion Members as in pre- <br />vious years. <br />The Board voted to grant iermission provided the proper <br />planking was placed under the booth and the town was protect- ' <br />ed by liability insurance against damage. <br />
