145 <br />SELECTMEN ► S MEETING <br />JANUARY 24, 1933. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the SelectmenIs Room, Town Office Building at 7:30 <br />P.M. Messrs. Trask, Custance, Gilereast, Ferguson and <br />O'Connell were present. The Supt. of Public Works and <br />Clerk were also present. <br />It was voted to approve the application of Ernest J. <br />PeddlerE <br />Collins of 35 Waltham Street for peddlers license to <br />license <br />peddle fruits and vegetables. <br />Application for the free use of Cary Memorial Hall <br />Use of <br />for the afternoons of February 5 and February 19, 1933 <br />Cary Hall <br />for two free band concerts was received from James J. <br />for <br />Carroll, Chairman of the Musical Division of the Lexington <br />concerts <br />Recreation Association, <br />The Board voted to grant the reouest. <br />List of outstanding water rates of Section Three <br />Water <br />was before the Board. <br />rates <br />Letter was received from the Town Counsel in which <br />he stated that the attorney for John Donnelly & Sons, <br />Donnelly <br />Raymond S. Wilkins of Palmer, Dodge, Barstow & iVilkins, <br />billboad <br />' <br />has written a letter agreeing that his clients will do <br />nothing about erecting a billboard on the property of <br />Edward J. Gavin. On the strength of this he has allowed <br />the question of a temporary injunction to go off the list. <br />Notice was received from the County Commissioners <br />Count <br />that the town would be called upon to appropriate <br />Hosp t, <br />$3,170.90 for the maintenance and repairs of the Middlesex <br />bill <br />County Tuberculosis Hospital, the same to be payable before <br />April 1, 1933. <br />Letter was received from the Town Accountant in which <br />he called attention to the fact that his appointment expired <br />Town <br />on January 23rd, and requested re -appointment to the office <br />Account - <br />of Town Accountant. The Board voted to appoint Mr. Charles <br />ant <br />F. Pierce to the office of Town Accountant for a period <br />of three years from January 23, 1933. <br />Hearing was declared open upon the application of <br />Fred L. Green for permission to maintain a two car garage <br />of brick on Bertwell Road. <br />Mr. Norman Hooper came before the Board and stated that <br />he had no objection to a garage being built upon this <br />Green <br />property but he did object to its being built before the <br />hearing is held. The Chairman explained to him that the law <br />Garage <br />' <br />Provides that this hearing is held on the maintenance and use <br />of the building and not on the granting of a permit to build <br />the building. <br />The applicant not having appeared, it was decided to <br />notify him to be present at the next meeting of the Board. <br />
