338 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING. <br />OP <br />MARCH 81 1932, <br />A ragular meeting of the Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room; Tarn Office Building., at 7:30 Y.M. <br />Messrs. Trask, Custance, Gilcteast, Ferguson and O'Connell <br />were present. The Supt. of Public Works and the Clerk <br />were also present. <br />Organization. <br />The Board organized with Mr. Robert P. Trask as <br />N Chairman. <br />State Aid. <br />State Aid return pay roll. f. or the month of January. <br />and February were signed by the Board. <br />Commitment. <br />Commitment of water guarantees in the aimunt of <br />$5229.45 for guarantees for 1931 was signed by the Board. <br />1 <br />The matter of the application of Richard BPPlarker for <br />a permit to erect a private garage on his property%at the <br />corner of Bertwell and Eaton Roads was taken from the table. <br />Mr. Custance reported that he'had visited the premises <br />on Saturday, and after viewing the property, he believdd <br />Parker <br />that the garage should beset back sixty feet. He stated <br />garage <br />that as a representative of the Lexington Co-operative Bank, <br />applications <br />he felt that the property of Mr. Reynolds adjoining would <br />be injured if a garage were looted twenty-five feet back <br />as Mr. Parker desired to locate-it. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Parker appeared before the Board again, <br />and also Mr. Reynolds. <br />, <br />'Mr. Parker presented some sketches showing the proposed <br />gavage and also some landscape views showing how other places <br />have been worked out under similar conditions. Mr. <br />Custance felt that this situation was a-'.little different <br />than those shown on the views; that there was more of an <br />expanse of territory. <br />Mr. Parker stated he did not wish to injure anyone <br />else's property and he had in mind the architectural and <br />civic welfare of the community. <br />Mr. Reynolds stated that the proposed garage was near <br />his porch and living room and that he would like to see the, <br />garage set back as far as could be considered. reasonable. <br />The Board requested Mr. Parker to set stakes in his <br />property showing his proposed location of the garage and <br />also showing the suggested location by Mr. Custance and the <br />Board agreed to view the premises on Saturday afternoon <br />at three P.M. inasmuch as they desired to have both parties <br />sa t is fi ed . <br />Bids were received on the $26,000. Middlesex County <br />Loan. <br />Tuberculosis Hospital loan „ notes dated March 1, 1932 and <br />maturing $13,000. March 1, 1933 and $13,000. March 1, 1934, <br />as follows.-- <br />First National Old Colony Corp. - 100.10559, 51 per cent <br />, <br />notes. Grafton Co. 5 3/4 per cent plus 012'. premium. <br />Bond, Judge & Co, - 100.312, 5 3/4 per cent. <br />Jackson & Curtis - 100.07, 5 3/4 per cent. <br />Chase, Harris, Forbes Corp. - 100,101, 5J per cent. <br />
