300 SELECTMEN t S MEETING <br />JANUARY 19, 1932. tw <br />A regular meeting of the Selectmen.was held at the <br />Selectments Room, Town office Building, at 91:30 P.M. , <br />Messrs. Trask, Custance, Shannon, slake and-Gildreast' <br />were present, The Supt, of Public Works and the Cleric <br />were also present. <br />Application for the Board of gurveg appy oval of <br />Hillcrest Avenue.and plan of street was presented by the <br />Hillcrest Supt. of Publ3m Works. , <br />Avenue. The Supt. was.requested to have %bo mesons petitioning <br />get the proper plans required by the Engineering Department. <br />before the Board of Survey hearing was advertisede <br />Senate bill #43 was handed to the Clerk by keprea®ntative <br />Albert H, Dornham, This is a report of the Dept. of public <br />Senate Works upon ftsinvesttgation relative to the construction <br />bill,Coneord and improvement of certain highways and in which it is <br />Avenue. Pgobbsed to construct Concord Avenue as a direct route to <br />Concord to relieve the traffic on Marrett Road; •' <br />s.. .., 4e f.... <br />. Suggestion was received by the Chairman from Mrr, <br />Parker who lives on Pollen Road, that no heavy trucks`'" •`� <br />Follen Rd. be allowed on this street. The street is not particularly <br />well constructed for heavy traffic and It is also a dangerous <br />hill. <br />The Board felt ttAt this was a Very good suggges'tiof <br />and requested the Supt, of Public WOW toe* signs ' <br />irecting that there would be no heat/ true s allowed, <br />he Supt. also suggested taking down the sign which states <br />Pollen Road to Concord," - <br />The Chairman stated•that there would by a joint <br />Appropria- meeting with the Appropriation Committee on fftrsda7 <br />tions. night, January 21st, to discuss; -the appropriations for <br />1932, <br />The Cihairman read the letter which -he wrote to <br />Chairman Gott of the Arlington §eleetmen after the ' <br />joint meetingg of the Boards of Selectmen of the two <br />Standpipe, titbwns relative to placing a standee on Turkey Hill, <br />Turkey Hill. He intended to write to Mr. Davis . Keniston also, <br />asking him for his opinion in regard to the placement. <br />of the standipie en Turkey Hill and whether or not he <br />would approve it. <br />At the joint meeting held in Arlington last <br />Tuesday, the Board of Selectmen of Arlington were <br />much in favor of placing the standpipe on this location. <br />A suggestion was made that the tank might be built low <br />and have fieldstone around the outside and that would''not <br />be as objectionable as a tall standpipe. <br />Letter was received from the Town Counsel in which , <br />he enclosed a form of release of damages when a water <br />Releases. gwftntee is signed, He advised that he felt that this <br />form of release would be better than the one that <br />was formerly used by the Water and Sewer ].rtment. <br />He also advised that this be used asIT!,o unac eepted <br />streets inasmuch as when the cw n lays out a street they <br />require the rights in the street. <br />
