Holt relative <br />to the Stone property in which he asked whether or not <br />the omission of Parcel #3 in the description given was <br />an error or intentional. Also he felt that the price <br />of $100. for Parcel #1 containing 1800 square feet <br />was a very inadequate price for the area. <br />Mr. Custance reported having'had a conference with <br />Mr. Holt; who informed him that he had Mr. Charles E. <br />Howe as appraiser for Miss Stone. As Attorney for Miss <br />Stone he had to advise her that she could not give the <br />Stone <br />property away as trustee, but that she had to -receive <br />Property.; <br />as much for the property as it was worth. Mr. Holt, not <br />knowing land values, employed Mr. Howe for this purpose. <br />The figures presented by him would leave a net <br />cost to the Town of $3500. Mr. Custance stated that <br />he did not believe that the land was worth that much <br />and he thought it was worth about $2000.. He felt that <br />the Town Engineer should go over the land to see how much <br />swamp land there was. <br />It was voted to lay this matter of the Stone <br />property on the table for one week. The Town Engineer <br />was also to.go over the vote to be adopted by the,Park <br />Commissioners to be sure the description was correct <br />and the matter is to be brought before the Board nett <br />Muesda7 evening. <br />Letter was received from Russell I. Prentiss-,, Health <br />Inspector, stating.that he had made an inspection of <br />Ryder <br />the Ryder property on Waltham Street, and on July"lst <br />pigs. <br />found no pigs were being kept there. <br />Mr. Custance received a letter from Chas. W. Sherman <br />Letter <br />of Metcalf and Eddy, in which he enclosed a complete <br />re tax <br />showing of the distribution of tax money in Montclair, <br />money. <br />New Jersey. <br />Mr. Custance reported that the Boston and Maine, <br />R. R. did not want to spend any money on Bow Street, <br />and inasmuch as the question of figures is the question <br />Bow <br />at the present time, he suggested a letter bo.be sent <br />Street, <br />to the County Commissioners requesting them to issue <br />the decree on the widening of Bow Street. <br />The Board voted to grant the joint location of <br />the Edison Electric Ill. Go. and the New Engladd Pole <br />Tel. & Tel.
