71 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />1 March 4, 1930. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen <br />was held at the Selectmen's Room, Town Office <br />Building, at 7:30 P.M. The Annual Election <br />having been held and Mr. Robert P. Trask having <br />been elected for the new member to take the <br />place of Mr. Francis Chamberlain, and Mr. <br />Theodore A. Custance having been re-elected <br />both for the term of three years, the Board met <br />this eveninT. It was decided not to organize <br />until Mr. Albert H. Burnham who is in the South. <br />returns. Messrs. Custance, Blake, Shannon and Trask <br />were present. The Supt. of Public and the Clerk <br />were also present. <br />Petition was received from the residents of <br />Police <br />Manor Cr^scent, North Lexington, asking that they <br />Protection <br />be given Police protection. <br />Lexington <br />It was decided to refer the matter to the <br />Manor. <br />Supt. of Public Works to investigate and advise whether <br />or not it was necessary to appoint an additional <br />policeman for duty in that section of the Town. <br />' <br />Letter was received from Fletcher W. Taft <br />in which he stated that he expected to be out <br />F.W.Taft <br />of Town about the time when he would have to <br />re appointment <br />work on the April 19th Committee, and he did <br />to April 19th <br />not feel that he should accept the appointment; <br />Committee* <br />however, he would delay about giving his <br />resignation until such time as he was definitely <br />sure whether he would be in Town or not. <br />Letter was received from James Stuart Smith <br />Letter from <br />in which he stated that he had no objection of <br />J.S.Smith <br />the re -arrangement of the velvet curtains in the <br />re various <br />Cary Memorial Building. In regard to the use of <br />matters. <br />the Pine room for the display of the collection <br />of birds belonging to Dr. Tilton, he stated that <br />he would take the matter up with the Board of <br />Trustees as soon as possible. In regard -to the <br />placing of the marker on the grounds of.the <br />Cary Memorial Building, he stated_ that there <br />had been already a conferenew on the.ma.tter <br />and it was settled for the immediate present. <br />Water rate commitment in the amount of <br />Water <br />$4535.24 was signed by the Board. <br />State Aid return in the amount of $28. <br />Commitment. <br />State Aid <br />was signed by the Board. <br />return signed. <br />Estimate was received from the Supt. of <br />the Water and Sewer Department fotp the laying <br />
