52 <br />h7GULAR �.ETING, FEBRU=.RY 19, 1929 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen <br />was held at the Selectmen's Room at 7:30 P. M. <br />Messrs. Burnham, Ballard, Chamberlain, Custanee,. <br />Robertson were present. The Supt, of Public Works <br />and the Cl-rk were also present. <br />Lakschewitz Hearing was declared open on the application <br />Garage at 8:30 P. M. of George Lakschewitz of 7 Spencer. <br />Street. Inasmuch as a plot plan showing the location <br />of the garage was not presented, the hearing was <br />closed, and the matter was laid over for one week. <br />Estimates Estimate sheet of the Garbage Collection Depart- <br />ment was considered. <br />Suggestion was made that the stores might be <br />charged for the additional visits that are.gsquired <br />to collect the garbage from the, and also the' hotels. <br />Discussion arose as to the probable growth of <br />the department, and whether the parties having collections <br />should be advised to obtain larger containers, so that <br />they would not have to request collections any more <br />than the regular established two a week collections. <br />It was decided to approve the amount of $60500. <br />asked for garbage collection. <br />$1750. was voted for traffic beacons. ' <br />$5,000. for special sidewalks and curbing in <br />front of the Town property was approved, and in this <br />connection it was voted to construct.the sidewalk <br />and curbing in front of the Parker School, Old Adams <br />School, New Adams .School, and the S, -one Building, end <br />Munroe School. <br />It was voted to approve the sum of $30,00, for <br />the purchase of land on Massachusetts Avenue for the <br />widening in front of the Boutelle Block. <br />It was voted to approve $6,800. to carry out the <br />conveyance in connection with Arthur A. Marshall & <br />Son's property. <br />Dix Lumber In regard to the sign of the Dix Lumber Company <br />Company on the State Road, the Supt. of Public T::Torks reported <br />that the State regulations are now in the Courts for <br />decision. However, the Board voted to request the <br />Supt. of Public e'dorks to notify the Dix Lumber Company <br />to remove the sign. <br />Buckman Letter was received from jar. Frederick L. Emery <br />Tavern in which he requested the Board to make allowance for I Shrubs an apnropriation for shrubs on the Buckman Tavern <br />grounds near the public sanitary. <br />The board voted to acknowledge to receipt of the <br />letter and to thank him for his suggestion. <br />
