REGULAR MEETING, MAY 1, 1928. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at the <br />Selectmen's Office at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Burnham, Custance, Ballard, <br />Robertson, and Chamberlain were present. The Supt. of Public Works <br />and the Clerk pro -tem were also present. <br />The records were approved. <br />Mr. Custance brought up the question of garbage as he hod <br />several calls during the day informing him that Mr. Thomas Forsythe <br />is not collecting any garbage now. <br />A letter was read from the Supt. of Public Works in regard to <br />garbage collection, and suggesting that an article be inserted in <br />the warrant for the next Town Meeting. The Board was informed <br />by the Supt. of Public Works that it might be possible Louse a <br />cart which was purchased for this purpose, and which never has been <br />used,but is on the Almshouse property. <br />It was voted that all complaints in regard to garbage collection <br />be referred to the Supt. of Public Works, and that he give the <br />citizens such assistance as he can bo arrange for the continuance <br />of the collection of garbage. <br />Letter was received from the Lexington Board of Trade inviting <br />the Board of Selectmen to their annual dinner in Masonic Ball, Monday, <br />May 71 1928 at 7 o'clock. The Board of Trade wao informed that <br />at least two members of the Board would be present at the dinner. <br />Mr. George A. Streetrat 17 Fletcher Avenue came before <br />the Board it 8:15 P.M. at which time he presented application for <br />a license to peddle meat in the Town of Lexington. Mr. Streeter <br />was born in Lexington, has lived here most of his life; and has <br />worked for Lester E Smith for twelve years. <br />After Mr. Streeter retired, the Board discussed the matter, and <br />it was voted to approve the application. <br />The Edison Electric Ill. Co. was granted permission to relocate <br />one pole on Locust Avenue, westerly from Robbins Road as the present <br />location will be dangerous when Robbins Road is constructed. <br />Permission was granted to the Edison Electric Ill. Co. and the <br />N. E. Tel. & Tel. Co. ,for joint location of ten poles on North <br />Bancock Street westerly; from Burlington Street. <br />Permission was granted to the N. E. Tel. & Tel. Co. and the <br />Edison Electric Ill. Co. for joint location of eight poles on <br />Locust Avenue westerly fromMass. Avenue. <br />Letter was received from Mr. F. A. Woodhead, Manager of the <br />Lexington Gas Company�in which he informed the Board that after <br />May 31st he would not be connected with that company, and expressing <br />his thanks for courtesies extended by the Board. <br />Letter was received from the Board of Trade asking the <br />Permission of the Board to erect a temporary information booth on <br />Depot Park. The booth would not be larger than ten feet square, and <br />will be designed_by Willard D. Brown, sketch will be get to the <br />
