REGULAR MEETING, January 17, 1928. <br />A reelar meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at the <br />Selectmen s office at 7,30 P.M. Messrs. Custance, 15urnham, and <br />Chamberlain were present. After the adjournment of the meeting at <br />8.55 P.M. Mr. Robertson arrived. The Clerk and the Supt. of <br />Public `9roks were also present. <br />Mr. Hill came before the Board and explained that some changes <br />had been made in the original intentions of the exercises of the <br />presentation of the Silver Service. He stated that owing to the duty <br />of the men on board ship it would not be convenient for the school <br />children to have a separate day to see the ship, and therefor all the <br />residents of Lexington including the children will have to go on <br />Saturday, January 28, 1928, from 2 to 4 P.M. if they desire to see the <br />ship, t was found that the afternoon tea would have to be eliminated, <br />but after the closing time the Selectmen and their wives and perhaps <br />the Committee would congregate in the Captain's room. <br />In regard to the tickets he stated that he would be willing to <br />have them printed together with fifty posters to be circulated. The <br />Board agreed to pay the bill for the printing. <br />A delegation of four men headed by Mr. k,. J. Henrich, representing <br />the Lexington Civic Association, came before the Board in regard to <br />widening Bow Street. They felt that something should be done about <br />the widening of this street from its junction with Mass. Hvenue to <br />' the other side of the railroad track inasmuch as this is the entrance <br />to a largely developed territory. <br />The'Chairman reminded Mr. Henrich that this matter had been before <br />the County Commissioners for a hearing, and that was the last action <br />taken except for the fact that the Appropriation Uommittee did not <br />approve of expenditure of money for the widening. <br />In this connection the Clerk was instructed to secure the plan <br />of the Wilbur property beyond the railroad track and also.copy of the <br />plan filed with -the County Commissioners showing the proposed widen - <br />Ing for the information of the Board. <br />Application was received from Isadore J. Michelson for permission <br />to erecta sign over the sidewalk in front.of his store, 470 Mass, Ave. <br />The Board decided to lay this matter over for one week. <br />Fetter was received from the Air Service of N. E.; -Inc. of <br />38 Chauncey St., Boston, in which they enclosed an agreement vtich may <br />be executed for an aerial photographic survey of the town. It was <br />decided to send a copy of this correspondence to each member of the <br />Board so that they might have an opportuhity to study the matter for <br />a decision at the next meeting. <br />Proposal was received from the Lexington Gas Company in connection <br />with the trees which were destroyed by gas on Bloomfield Street. <br />Proposal is as follows: <br />
