REGULAR MEETING, JANUARY 10, 1928. <br />' A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at the <br />Selectmen's Office at 7;30 P.M. Messrs. Custance, Burnham, Robertson, <br />and Chamberlain were present. The Supt, of Public Works and the <br />Clerk were also present. <br />. Town Oounsel, Sydney R. Wrightington, came before the Board <br />and requested authority to get the stenographic notes in the contempt <br />case against William J. Miskell transcribed, cost of which will be <br />approximately $50. Mr. "Trightington stated that he desired to have <br />these notes because he felt that John M. Miskell was going to con- <br />tinue his case and ask for a jury trial. <br />The Board granted authority to Mr. Wrightington to obtain the <br />notes of the case. <br />Attention was called to an error in the records of last week <br />whereby it was stated by Mr. Emery that Mr. Hartman came to Lex- <br />ington with his engineer, this should have been Mr. R. I. Harriman <br />of the Boston Planning Uommission. <br />Letter was received from the ?upt. of Public !Works asking <br />whether or not the Girl Scouts could use the six Colonial. flags <br />owned by the town at the Arlington Town Rall, January 14, 1928, <br />provided Mrs. Hollis Webster gave assurance that the'flags would <br />be returned in good condition. The Board informed the Supt, that <br />' -they would allow the use of the flags, provided Jars.. Webster agrees <br />to return them in good condition. <br />First Class Agent's License was granted to the Lexington Auto <br />Company of 23 and 25 Mass. Avenue, also Fred N. Viano of 400 Mass.. <br />Avenue. <br />Letter was directed to Mr. Tibbetts, Building lnppector, asking <br />him not to grant permits for building garages until after the hearing <br />has been held before the Selectmen, if the garage is one that requires <br />a hearing. <br />Letter was received from the Planning Board enclosing letter from <br />�`etcalf and Eddy giving a statement of the work that they will do for <br />the sum of $1500. <br />No action was taken, awaiting the meeting of the full Board. <br />Letter was received from the Town Accountant asking the Board <br />for information in regard to securities contemplated in 1928. <br />No action was taken on the matter as -the program fdr 1.928 <br />is not yet decided. <br />The request of the Clerk for a two weeks vacation with pay in <br />February for the purpose of getting married and taking a cruise to <br />' the South was granted provided that she returned to duty. <br />information was received from the Supt. of the Water and Sewer <br />Dept, giving cost of $129290. for extension of water mains in the <br />Robbins & Smith property. No action was taken awaiting such time <br />as the figures of cost of construction of a sewer is also received. <br />
