Im <br />REGULAR MEETING, PARCH =91 19,_7. <br />A regular meeting of the Bo rd of Selectmen was held at thi' <br />Selectmen's Ofiice at 7:30 P.i -eSsrs. Custance Burnham Ballard <br />Robertson, and Chamberlain ;-rere present. The Supt. of Public 'V;orks <br />and -the Clerk were also prevent. <br />The records.iere approved �•rith the exception of the organization. <br />This was to be considered again at the next meeting. <br />The bids on sewer construction on Mass. Avenue from Middle Street <br />to the end of Curve Street north and from Curve Street south to the <br />East Lexington Station were received at 7:30 P.M. The total amount of <br />the bids were as follows: <br />John Gaffey 4251934.50 <br />C & R Construction Company 18,265.25 <br />A. Ross & Son 18,014.25 <br />Bruno .: Petitti 20,664.50 <br />Anthony Ross & Son being tie lowest bidder was awcarded the <br />contract. <br />Hearing was declered open upon application of Lloyd H. Ch, -se for <br />permission to install two 1,000 gallon gasoline tanks x:00 feet gest <br />of the line of Spring Street nt his roadside stand. <br />Mr. Ganong and Euitn Libby spoke in favor of sir. Chase receiving <br />the permit, it1r. Neil n2cfritosn tas E:lso presen and stated that he <br />felt that gasoline tanks in this vicinity ir,ere necessary, and that,a <br />permit should be granted. Mr. George H. Lore was also present in <br />favor of the permit and no persons appeared to object. <br />The Board decided to lay the matter on tha table for ons week <br />so that they can view the situ:, tion. <br />Hearing w s declared open at 8:30 r'.ia. upon the application of <br />Robbins and Smith for approval of plans oiMadison Avenue, Lexington <br />Avenue, Smith Avenue, Robbins Road., Tower Street, Locust Avenue, and <br />Watson Avenue. Mr. Robbins and Mr. Smith were present together with <br />their engineer, Mr. Peters. They presented plains of the propo^ed <br />location of these streets. One o_ the streets snowed a grade of 15%. <br />This grade seemed to be quite objectionable to the Planning Hoard <br />when they considered the plans. <br />Cdr. George. F. narrington %rrho owns property on rollen _o^d was <br />present and objected to the lay out of Lexington Avenue inasmuch as <br />it would spoil three of his lots, one of which is already sold. He <br />Stated that he also objected to the extension of Smith Avenue. The <br />question as to laying out an entrance to the Uoulton property was <br />considered and Robbins & Smith stated th^t they would agree to allow <br />a strip of lana for this entr.nce provide(-, the street could be con- <br />tinued through the Moulton property, as �-.n extension of possibly <br />Watson Avenue or Smith Avenue. Before taking any definite action on <br />the matter, the Bo=�rd decided to view the premises upon Saturday <br />afternoon next at 3 P.M. and to meet at the new houses of Robbins & <br />Smith located on Locust Avenue. <br />In connection -,^with this lay out the Boaru considered laying out <br />extensions of proposeu streets over adjoining property, and advised <br />
