22 <br />REGULAR MEETING, MARCH 1, 1927. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at the ' <br />Selectmen s Office, at 8:00 P.M. Messrs. Custance, Burnham, Miles <br />Robertson,and Ballard were.present. The Supt. of Public Works and <br />the Clerk were also present. <br />The records were `approved. <br />A hearing was declared open upon the application of the Ross <br />Tire & Battery Company for permission to replace the present 280 <br />gallon gasoline tank with a 1,000 gallon tank located at 3 Depot <br />Square. <br />No persons appeared to object, and it was voted to grant the. <br />permit. <br />Application was received from E. W. Harrod doing business at <br />149 Mass. Avenue, requesting permission to install a gasoline tank <br />and pump at his store. The Board requested Mr. Harrod to inform <br />them if a permit was granted just what the location and capacity of <br />the tank would be. <br />Letter was received from James Stuart Smith in which he made <br />notation of several slight changes which are to be made in the <br />Memorial Building, and asking the approval of the Board on these <br />changes, and for blanket authority to make other changes. The Board <br />replied that they approved the changes with the exception of the <br />flooring on the stage which was to be 3/16" rift hard pine. Mr. Cus- <br />tance was requested to inquire of the Trustees about this flooring. <br />The Board also suggested that the Trustees file with them a memoran- <br />dum of the changes to be made one copy to be filed with the Board <br />of Selectmen, and the other to be approved by them and returned. The <br />one to be filed in the Selectmen's Office is to be considered an <br />addenda to the specifications. <br />A clipping was received from the Dallas, Texas Journal in which <br />it gave an account of the exhibition of the Lexington flags. This was <br />sent to the Board by Payson Smith, Commissioner of Education. <br />Notice was received from the County Commissioners of a hearing to <br />be held on March 25th, at the County Commissioners Office, Court House, <br />East Cambridge at 10:00 A. M. on the relocation and repairs of <br />Massachusetts Avenue from its junction of Pleasant Xtreet and Follen <br />Road to a point 500 feet easterly from its junction with Oak Street. <br />Letter was received from the Town Counsel in which he stated <br />that he had been requested to give an opinion to the Planning Board <br />regarding the ownership by the Town of Robbins Cemetery in East Lex- <br />ington. He stated that in order to give an opinion he would have to. <br />engage a title examiner in the Registry to do this work, but requested <br />the wgproval of the Board before doing so. , <br />The Board replied that inasmuch as this is not a business <br />Section they did not see the necessity of establishing a building <br />line as the Zoning Law automatically establishes a building line of <br />20 feet. <br />Letter was received from the Hart Motorcoach Company asking that <br />
