MELTING SEPT. 8, 1925. A meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Hall, Lexington, on Tuesday, September 8, 19259 at 8 P. M. The following members of the Board were present, Messrs. Hutchinson, Moulton, Burnham, Custance and Miles. The Superintendent of Public Works and Asst Clerk were also present. Hearing was held upon application of Clifton E 1,1Ialker of 102 Bedford Street, for permission to erect a first class garage on his premises. No persons appeared to object and it was voted to grant the permit. Hearing was held at 8:05 P. TI. upon application of Edmund S. Childs for permission to erect a garage at 3 Adams Street, capacity of the garage being for three cars. No persons appeared to object and it was voted to grant the permit. Hearing was held at 8:07 P. RI. upon application of David J. Harrigan of 144 Bedford Street, for permission to erect a garage on his premises. No persons appeared to object and it was voted tog rant the permit. ' Hearing was held upon application of Bridget Leary of "Waltham Street, for permission to alter her barn making same fire-prodf so that cars could be stored there. The Building Inspector informed the Board that several complaints have come to him in regard to the conditions existing at Tars. Leary's barn and he felt that allowing the fire -proofing of the building would be a considerable benefit. It was therefor voted to grant permission to alter thebarn, making same fire -proof for several cars. Application of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Burton for permission to board infants was approved by the Board. The location of the premises is on Grant Street. The bond of the Tax Collector, Byron C. Earle was apTT owed by the Board. Common Victualler's License was granted to the "Cranfield Spa" located at the junction of Middle and Spring Streets. Mrs, H. Lovejoy of 59 "Dater Street,Cambtidge, came before the Board representing the Volunteers of America, asking that they be given privilege to hold tag day in the town. 1:rs. Lovejoy stated that the work wouldAone during the day under the direction of a local committee of which Miss Amy Taylor would be a member. ' The Board voted to grant permission for the tag day. The Board considered the matter of boarding the inmates at the :Lexington Almshouse in the Somerville Almshouse and were informed that they could be boarded for $7.00 per week at Somerville a saving of 75J each week on each inmate.
