MELTING SEPT. 8, 1925. <br />A meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's <br />Room, Town Hall, Lexington, on Tuesday, September 8, 19259 at 8 P. M. <br />The following members of the Board were present, Messrs. Hutchinson, <br />Moulton, Burnham, Custance and Miles. The Superintendent of Public <br />Works and Asst Clerk were also present. <br />Hearing was held upon application of Clifton E 1,1Ialker of <br />102 Bedford Street, for permission to erect a first class garage on <br />his premises. <br />No persons appeared to object and it was voted to grant the <br />permit. <br />Hearing was held at 8:05 P. TI. upon application of Edmund S. <br />Childs for permission to erect a garage at 3 Adams Street, capacity <br />of the garage being for three cars. No persons appeared to object <br />and it was voted to grant the permit. <br />Hearing was held at 8:07 P. RI. upon application of David J. <br />Harrigan of 144 Bedford Street, for permission to erect a garage <br />on his premises. No persons appeared to object and it was voted <br />tog rant the permit. <br />' Hearing was held upon application of Bridget Leary of "Waltham <br />Street, for permission to alter her barn making same fire-prodf <br />so that cars could be stored there. The Building Inspector informed <br />the Board that several complaints have come to him in regard to the <br />conditions existing at Tars. Leary's barn and he felt that allowing <br />the fire -proofing of the building would be a considerable benefit. <br />It was therefor voted to grant permission to alter thebarn, <br />making same fire -proof for several cars. <br />Application of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Burton for permission to <br />board infants was approved by the Board. The location of the <br />premises is on Grant Street. <br />The bond of the Tax Collector, Byron C. Earle was apTT owed <br />by the Board. <br />Common Victualler's License was granted to the "Cranfield <br />Spa" located at the junction of Middle and Spring Streets. <br />Mrs, H. Lovejoy of 59 "Dater Street,Cambtidge, came before the <br />Board representing the Volunteers of America, asking that they <br />be given privilege to hold tag day in the town. 1:rs. Lovejoy <br />stated that the work wouldAone during the day under the direction <br />of a local committee of which Miss Amy Taylor would be a member. <br />' The Board voted to grant permission for the tag day. <br />The Board considered the matter of boarding the inmates <br />at the :Lexington Almshouse in the Somerville Almshouse and were <br />informed that they could be boarded for $7.00 per week at Somerville <br />a saving of 75J each week on each inmate. <br />
