Mff <br />MEETING, JULY 21,1925. <br />A meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectments Room, Town Hall., Lexington, on Tuesday, July 21, 1925 <br />at 7:30 P. M. The following members of the Board were present, <br />Messrs. Burnham, Custance and Miles. The Supt, of Public 'Yorks <br />was also present. <br />Hearing was declared open upon application of Bessie K. <br />Mitchell of 11 Parker Street, for permission to erect a private <br />garage on her premises. <br />No persons appeared to object. Mr. Mitchell appeared in <br />behalf of the application. The Board granted the permit. <br />Hearing was declared open upon application of Ida H. B. <br />Capper for permission to erect a gasoline filling station at the <br />corner of Middle and Waltham Streets. <br />I••7rs. Capper appeared in behalf of this application and no <br />persons appeared to object. <br />The matter was taken under advisement awaiting a meeting of <br />the full board. <br />Hearing was declared open <br />Herbert of State Road, in which <br />filling station. <br />upon application of !Alii.liam r. <br />he asked permission to erect a <br />The Board advised Mr. Herbert that no permit could be <br />given him owing to the fact that he was not located in the <br />business district under the Zoning Law. <br />License for 1st Class Agent dealing in Hudson- Essex <br />cars was granted to r'red 14. Viano to do business at 34 Bedford <br />Street, Colonial -Garage. <br />Mr. J. Willard Hayden and Mr. Edward P. Merriam members <br />of the Pageant Association Incorp, came before the Board in <br />response to their request of the Board to discuss bills rendered <br />for services of Police on account of the Pageant. It was finally <br />decided that the following bills would be paid by the Pageant <br />Association: <br />Maurice Scannell $8.50 <br />Henry H. Harvey 5.40 <br />William P. Mahoney 79.00 <br />James Irwin 24.00 <br />Charles E. Moloy 76.45 <br />Thompson Irwin 36.00 <br />Mff 737 <br />Mr. Hayden explained that the Association had already paid <br />about $200 for police services inside of the grounds. <br />The Board had received bill from the City of Boston amounting <br />to $800 for police service and one for $164.00for carrying the men <br />to Lexington. These bills the Board felt should be incurred as <br />town bills as the streets had to be regulated for traffic and <br />police protection had to be had on this occasion. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
